1. Write your description - Your description should include anything buyers will need or want to know about the car. Call out any notable elements of the specification, condition, or provenance of the vehicle that you feel will be of interest. Listing out the service history, dates and mileages of any work carried out is also very helpful to prospective buyers. Your vehicle must be 'as described' so it is important that you clearly state any known faults or damage. For more tips see our listing guide.

2. We review - After you have submitted your description details and photos, our team will review what has been provided to ensure that everything needed to get the Classified listing live is present, and that the car meets our suitability criteria.

3. Your listing goes live - It's that easy. Once your vehicle has passed the previous step, we'll publish your listing in our Classifieds section. We'll email you to confirm this, and let you know about any enquiries immediately. We won't display your contact details on the site. All enquiries are managed within our platform, and you'll receive the message and contact details from any interested parties, so you can decide who to contact. You can manage your Classified listing from the MyAccount section, make changes, or let us know when the car sells. However, if you need help from us then there is always personal support available.

How much does it cost to list with us? - Classifieds on Collecting Cars are free-to-use for both buyers and sellers. There are no fees to list with us and you'll receive 100% of the price you negotiate with the buyer.

Is your vehicle suitable? - Is your car classic, sporting or collectible? We curate our listings carefully. If you're not sure that your vehicle is suitable, take a look at our sold section and see if we've listed something similar before, or contact us to discuss.

Login or create an account - You'll need to login or register with us to complete the Classified enquiry form. We'll ask for payment card details for you if we don't have these already, but remember, there are no fees to sell with us. We only require payment card details to verify your identity.

Research the market - Do your research and price the car realistically to encourage interest. Rather than aligning to speculative asking prices that are not often based in reality, take a look at sale prices for similar vehicles with comparable specification and mileage. Pay particular attention to recent sales, as market values can change quickly.

Take high-quality photos - You can upload up to 30 photos of your vehicle. You'll need 5-10 exterior shots, 5-10 interior shots, and at least 1 each of the mechanicals and documentation. The quality of your photography is critical to gaining attention for your listing, and can help you achieve the best price. Ensure the car is thoroughly cleaned inside and out, and take high-quality landscape photos from a range of angles. We recommend using a DSLR. Choose a well-lit area, and ensure that the location does not distract from the vehicle.
