EQUIPMENT AND OPTIONS

• A full suspension bike made by Porsche in the mid to late 1990s, it is understood to have had a new list price of around $10,000.
• Featuring state-of-the-art technology at the time; this FS Evolution is equipped with a TIG-welded aluminium tubing frame, with aluminium inverted Votec forks and a bespoke double carbon-fibre triple clamp, and a Risse Racing Astro shock absorber at the rear.
• It uses carbon-fibre to deliver a rigid yet incredibly lightweight crank set and crank arms, as well as carbon-fibre for the saddle post, the three-spoke Spengle wheels, and the custom crafted bar ends.
• Braking is by huge Hope Hydro discs, to provide optimal performance in all conditions.
• The bike is accompanied by a very rare original period brochure, which the owner tracked down specifically, and which details the specification.

CONDITION

• No known frame damage.
• As this is a mountain bike, there are some signs of wear and use, but in general its yellow finish is in very good condition. The forks have been stripped and repainted, and the bike has had some other cosmetic attention and detailing - but retains its original paint.
• Its saddle has some slight fading and patina, but no damage or heavy wear.
• The original chain and rear cassette has been kept on the bike for authenticity.
• The bike has recently been checked over and prepared for sale by an independent specialist, to ensure it is ready for use.

SUMMARY

This Porsche Bike FS Evolution is a lesser-seen and highly original example of the marque’s two-wheeled pedal-powered machine from the 1990s. In Evolution guise it benefits from carbon-fibre components not seen on the standard S or FS models of the same era, and it is offered in very good order throughout, ready to use as intended, or simply to preserve as a rare and collectible piece of Porsche automobilia.
