2020 PORSCHE 911 (992) TURBO S

This Porsche 992 Turbo S is a consummate everyday supercar, boasting staggering performance and a discerning factory specification. Under the engine lid is a mighty 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six producing 641bhp and 590lb-ft of torque, driving all four wheels via the eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission with paddle shift. The odometer now shows 2,173 miles from new.

The 992 Turbo S boasts ferocious acceleration and pace, capable of 0-62mph in just 2.7 seconds, and a top speed of 205mph. An original UK-market car registered in July 2020, this 911 is offered by its first and only owner, who is making room for a new Ferrari that they have on order.

This particular Turbo S left the factory finished in a menacing black-on-black colour scheme, enhanced by high-gloss black treatment for the Turbo S Exclusive Design alloy wheels, the ‘Porsche’ and ‘911’ exterior badges, and black surrounds for the headlights. The car is also equipped with privacy glass, rear wiper, painted rear lid air intake slats, and the sports exhaust system.

Its specification includes Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and Power Steering Plus, as well as LED main headlights with matrix beam technology. In the cabin, the black leather upholstery is accented by Crayon grey seat belts and stitching, leather sun visors, and a leather-trimmed and heated GT Sport steering wheel. There is also an electric tilt-and-slide sunroof, cabin ioniser, heated front seats, keyless Porsche Entry and Drive system, and the high-end Burmester surround-sound system. A fire extinguisher, as well as the ambient lighting and storage packages round off the interior features.

As you would expect from a car that has been on the road for barely three months, its bodywork and paint are in outstanding condition. It has been driven carefully and evidently kept clean and tidy. The body trims are all in great shape, and there is no damage to any of the light lenses. It rides on the centre-locking Exclusive Design alloys, which are completely free of any kerbing grazes or other marks.

In the cabin, the black leather upholstery is in superb order. There is no wear to the cushions or bolsters, and the other elements of trim also present in excellent condition. The accents in metal and carbon-fibre give the interior an ambience of sporting luxury, while the comfort and convenience features mean this would make a fantastic long-distance road trip companion.

As a nearly-new car, this 992 Turbo S is not due its first service for quite some time, and the first annual MOT inspection will not be due until July 2023. The wheels are shod in the original Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres in size 255/30 ZR20 at the front and 315/30 ZR21 at the rear, which still have plenty of tread remaining.

This Porsche 992 Turbo S is an immensely capable 911, blending ballistic outright performance with refined everyday comfort, usability and practicality. At launch, Evo magazine said that this latest model “offers a clearer, more distinct character and experience that others in the line-up can’t match”. It is a great choice for a thrilling daily driver, or could be kept safely tucked away, ready for a spirited weekend adventure when the opportunity arises.
