This 2020 BMW M5 Edition 35 Jahre is a potent limited-edition super saloon, which is presented in outstanding condition throughout. Under the bonnet is the 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8, which produces a herculean 616bhp and 553lb-ft of torque, driving all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It can propel this practical four-door BMW from 0-62mph in only 3.3 seconds.

This particular example was first registered on 13 July 2020, and is now offered for sale by its first and only owner. The odometer displays 4,500 miles from new.

Introduced in July 2019, the M5 Edition 35 Jahre was created to celebrate 35 years of the marque’s iconic M5 performance saloon, with only 350 examples being produced worldwide – and only 10 examples understood to have been sold new to UK buyers.

Based on the M5 Competition, the 35 Jahre features a number of unique cosmetic enhancements, including its exclusive Frozen Dark Grey metallic paintwork, 20-inch Graphite Grey alloy wheels, and ‘aluminium carbon structure’ gold anodised trim in the cabin, which is upholstered in Black Individual Merino leather.

Owing to this M5’s young age and low mileage, its bodywork remains in excellent condition, with no damage to any of the panels. The distinctive Frozen Dark Grey satin paintwork also presents very well, and has a smooth appearance across the entire car, with no noticeable marks or blemishes to speak of. It has been fully wrapped with a matt finish paint protection film (PPF).

As the 35 Jahre is based on the M5 Competition, it also shares that model’s carbon-fibre roof, which is matched by a number of optional BMW M Performance carbon components, including the front splitter, rear spoiler, rear diffuser and side sill extensions. The car rides on its correct set of 20-inch ‘Y spoke’ alloy wheels, which are in superb order.

Inside, this rare modern performance saloon offers the blend of high-quality materials and cutting-edge technology that BMW is known for. The seats, dashboard and the sides of the transmission tunnel are all clad in luxurious black Merino leather, which is in near-new condition, and is adorned by gold contrast stitching. The latter complements the 35 Jahre’s unique gold carbon structure trim, which is applied to the dashboard, centre console and door card inserts.

Script on the cup holder cover explicitly denotes this as one of 350 M5 Edition 35 Jahre cars. Elsewhere, all of the trim remains in outstanding condition, and there is no noticeable wear on the black Alcantara or leather covering around the upgraded M Performance steering wheel.

Factory-fitted equipment includes the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, BMW Professional media navigation, electrically adjustable seats, cruise control, and keyless entry. All of the interior buttons, switches and electrical items work without fault, and there are no warning lights or messages displayed on the dashboard or infotainment system.

Given this M5’s recent manufacture date it has required little in the way of routine maintenance, apart from its running-in service that was conducted by Halliwell Jones BMW in September 2020 at 1,370 miles.

The car has not yet required its first MOT test, and the seller states that all four tyres are original – with around 6mm of tread. This limited-edition M5 will be supplied with all of its original tools and handbooks, which are contained within the ‘M’ branded leather document wallet.
