2016 BMW (F80) M3 SALOON

This BMW M3 is a potent yet practical performance saloon, which is finished in a wonderful and lesser-seen factory paint colour and is presented in very good cosmetic and mechanical condition. Under the bonnet is the 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six, producing 425bhp and a truly impressive 406ft-lb of torque from under 2,000rpm. This is mated to the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, enabling a 0-62mph time of just 4.1 seconds. The odometer displays 24,723 miles from new.

Introduced in 2014, the F80-generation model was the first saloon-only M3, with the new designation of M4 taking over on the coupe front. Perhaps more notable, it was also the first M3 to feature a turbocharged engine, marking a significant departure from its naturally-aspirated V8-powered predecessor.

First registered on 24 March 2016, this M3 was specified in the charming and uncommon hue of Oxford Green II metallic with a Silverstone leather interior. There is just one previous keeper on the V5C, but the seller is the first and only private owner from new.

Free of any accident damage, the bodywork presents very well, with straight, unmarked panels and even factory shut lines. The verdant Oxford Green II metallic paintwork is also in superb order, with a glossy appearance around the car. While the seller reports that there are some very small stone chips on the bonnet, this is in line with the car’s age and road use.

All of the exterior trim and badging is in good order, as is the glossy carbon-fibre roof, which adds a further racy touch to this already aggressive BMW. The car rides on a set of 19-inch ‘Style 437M’ alloy wheels with five split spokes, which are finished in gloss black with diamond-cut faces. There is a slight graze on the driver’s side front wheel, which can be seen in the photos on close inspection.

Moving inside, this distinguished green M3 features contrasting Silverstone light grey leather upholstery, which is in great shape, with the seller only reporting slight wear to the driver’s seat bolsters. There are also some minor indentations to the leather on the rear passenger seat, but these do not detract from the cabin’s otherwise impressive condition.

The leather-clad door cards and interior trim items also present very well, including the Piano Black sections of the centre console, which are free of any significant scratches. Factory-fitted equipment includes electrically adjustable heated front seats with memory settings for the driver, a premium Harman/Kardon stereo system, head-up display, climate control, satellite navigation, and front and rear parking sensors.

It also has the Comfort Access Package, Advanced Parking Package, Extended Interior Lighting Package, and Extended Leather. All of the car’s buttons, switches and electrical items work as they should, and there are no warning lights or messages displayed on the dashboard or infotainment system screen.

This M3’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out in July 2020 at 24,001miles by a BMW specialist that replaced the engine oil, oil filter and pollen filter, as well as replacing the front and rear brake discs and pads using genuine BMW parts.

Prior to this, the car was serviced by a specialist in January 2019 at 15,101 miles, when the engine oil and filter were replaced; and another oil service was carried out by a BMW main dealer in December 2017 at 10,117 miles.

This M3’s last MOT test was conducted 16 January 2021 at 24,676 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with no advisories, which has been the case every year since the car’s first test in March 2019.

The vendor states that the car’s front tyres are over one year old and have 4mm-5mm of tread remaining, while the rears have covered less than 600 miles and have 8mm of tread remaining.

Records of this performance BMW’s first services are stored digitally, and the seller will provide the next owner with printed invoices for the car’s more recent maintenance.

This F80-generation BMW M3 is a hugely capable four-door performance car, which is finished in a superb factory colour scheme and is in impressive overall condition. Ever a favourite of the driving enthusiast, the M3 is as at home on the daily commute as it is on the track, and this handsome example will no doubt bring a smile to its next owner’s face on every drive.
