2014 PORSCHE (981) BOXSTER - MANUAL

This 981-generation 2014 Porsche Boxster is an engaging open-top sports car, which is presented in excellent condition and finished in a rare and attractive factory colour scheme. It is powered by a 261bhp naturally aspirated 2.7-litre flat-six, and is driven through the rear wheels via an engaging six-speed manual transmission. The odometer displays just 31,840 miles from new.

An original UK-market right-hand drive example, this Boxster was first registered on 30 September 2014 and was specified with Anthracite Brown metallic paintwork over a two-tone Cocoa/Umber leather interior. Other factory options include front and rear parking sensors and the inclusion of the ‘Sport’ button, which sharpens the car’s throttle response and activates the sports exhaust for a racier exhaust note. The car has had only two private owners from new, and it is now offered for sale by the trade.

The damage-free bodywork presents superbly, and the paint is in generally superb order, with only some very minor bubbling to the finish on the rear bumper. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition, with a smooth and glossy appearance across the panels. The black fabric convertible hood also presents very well, and fits snugly over its frame, with no rips, tears or signs of fading. This Boxster rides on a set of 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, which are in great shape.

In the cabin, two-tone Cocoa/Umber leather helps this sophisticated sports car to stand out from the crowd, while complementing the bodywork’s earthy hue. The sport seats’ lighter centre sections remain in very good order, as do the matching door card inserts, instrument cowl and centre storage compartment/arm rest. The dark brown leather covering the remainder of the seats is also in very good condition, with only minor wear to the driver’s side bolster.

All of the other interior trim presents very well, owing to the car’s low mileage, with only some slight scuffs on the bottom of the driver’s door trim and on the black plastic sill cover. As well as the smart two-tone leather, the discerning first owner also specified the car with the Sport Design steering wheel. The seller reports that there are no faults with any of the car’s buttons, switches or electrical items, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

This agile roadster’s most recent service was carried out in September 2020 at 31,732 miles by Porsche specialist PIE Performance. As well as a full vehicle inspection, the car’s engine oil, oil filter and pollen filter were replaced, and the locks and hinges were lubricated.

Prior to this, Porsche Centre Colchester performed a major service including a spark plug change in November 2018 at 24,198 miles, and Porsche Centre Leeds carried out a minor service on 28 September 2016 at 11,659 miles.

This Boxster’s last MOT test was conducted on 14 November 2019 at 28,096 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with no advisories, and the vendor will have the car tested again prior to its sale, so that it is handed over with a fresh 12-month certificate.

The wheels are shod in Pirelli P Zero tyres in size 235/45 ZR18 at the front and 265/45 ZR18 at the rear. All four are described as being in good condition, with over 5mm of tread remaining on each.

This Boxster will be supplied with its original stamped service book, Porsche PCM manual and quick guide, driver’s manual and Boxster reference book, as well as its complete original tool kit, safety triangle and locking wheel nut key.

As the last generation Boxster model with naturally aspirated engines across the range, the Porsche 981 Boxster is now becoming a sought-after sports car for marque purists. Fitted with a six-speed manual transmission and the desirable ‘Sport’ mode button, this engaging example is presented in excellent condition and with low mileage, and is sure to turn heads thanks to its rare factory colour combination.

Please note: the DVLA data currently shows this car as being grey, having been changed from brown via an incorrect V5C update in November 2017. This car’s Anthracite Brown paintwork is the original factory colour.
