2014 BMW (F10) M5 COMPETITION PACK

Finished in a striking factory colour scheme and particularly well-equipped, this 2014 BMW M5 Competition Package is a fine example of the contemporary super saloon. Under the bonnet is a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8, which produces 575bhp and powers the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shift. The odometer shows 41,683 miles from new.

First registered on 8 May 2014, this F10-generation M5 was specified in the BMW Individual scheme of Frozen Brilliant White with Sakhir Orange upholstery and the £5,500 full Merino leather option. It also features carbon-ceramic brakes, adaptive LED headlights, M Sport multifunction front seats and a premium Harman Kardon sound system – not to mention the sought-after Competition Package performance upgrade.

Today, the bodywork remains in great shape, with smooth, even shut lines and no evidence of any prior damage. A lesser-seen option from BMW’s ‘Individual’ range of finishes, the satin Frozen Brilliant White paintwork helps to further set the M5 apart from the crowd, and is reported to be in excellent condition, with the only blemish of note being a 1mm stone chip on the front bumper.

Both the flanks and the lower central section of the front bumper are accented by racing stripes in the M Division’s signature colours, which add a racy touch; however they should be relatively straightforward to remove should the next owner prefer a more subdued look. The car rides on a set of 20-inch, seven-spoke ‘601M’ alloy wheels, which are in very good order, though there are some minor kerb scratches on the rim of the front driver’s-side wheel.

Stepping inside, the interior is trimmed in eye-catching Sakhir Orange full Merino leather, an expensive option which makes a welcome change from the more commonly-seen black or grey upholstery options. In line with the car’s age and use there is some creasing to the driver’s seat’s outer bolsters, but this is relatively minor, and the passenger and rear seats are very smart indeed. Accented by Piano Black trim, the dashboard and door cards present very well, with only a few very small marks and scuffs to their surfaces.

As the car was specified with more than £27,000 in optional extras, it should come as little surprise that the cabin features a dazzling array of equipment, including M Sport multi-function front seats, surround view cameras, a Harman Kardon sound system, soft close doors, an automatic tailgate, a reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors and speed limit display. All of the switchgear works as it should, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

Described by the vendor as driving like new, with no squeaks or knocks, this M5 is in excellent mechanical order. There are seven maintenance visits on record, including the all-important running-in service, with all work carried out by BMW main dealers. Its most recent service was carried out in April 2021 at 41,630 miles by Cotswold BMW Cheltenham, who also changed the brake fluid and carried out a visual health check. Prior to this, Cooper BMW Durham serviced the car in June 2020 at 36,497 miles, which included an engine oil and filter change and a rear differential service.

Its last MOT test was conducted on 5 January 2021 at 40,964 miles, resulting in a clean first-time pass. The wheels are shod in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres, which have at least 5mm of tread remaining. The rear items are around two years old, while the fronts were replaced nine months ago, and all four are in very good condition. The car will be accompanied by all of its original books, invoices for its recent services and two keys.

This F10-generation BMW M5 is a great example of the widely praised V8 super saloon, which is finished in a rare colour combination and benefits from the additional power and poise that the Competition Package provides.
