2011 PORSCHE 911 (997) GT3 RS 4.0 - LHD

This Porsche 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 is undoubtedly one of the most coveted 911s of all time, presented in superb condition and with very low mileage. Under the engine lid is a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six - the last of the true ‘Mezger’ engines - producing up to 493bhp, and driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows just 9,486 miles (15,266 km), and it is covered by an extended warranty in place until 16 January 2023, which is fully paid for, and is transferable to another private owner.

Delivered on 28 July 2011 via Porsche Zentrum Maienfeld in Switzerland, this is car number 131 of just 600 built. It received its first service in July 2013 at the same main dealer, and the following year it was exported to the UK, where it was re-registered in March 2014. There are two previous UK keepers on the log book, and the vendor - an avid Porsche collector - acquired the car in May 2020. This is now an EU taxes-paid car.

The bodywork and paint present in excellent condition, with no known accident damage, and retaining all of the correct finishes, trims and decals. The front canards on either side of the bumper are in great shape, and the front lip spoiler also appears to be in very good order. Red highlights on the door mirrors and livery are mirrored in the bright red brake callipers around the standard brake discs.

In the cabin, this GT3 RS 4.0 is equipped with the carbon-fibre folding bucket seats, upholstered in black leather for the bolsters and headrests, and Alcantara for the centre panels. Alcantara is also present around the steering wheel rim, gear knob and gaiter, handbrake grip, and the central door panels and armrests. The red accents continue with the centre storage lid trimmed in red Alcantara, as well as red seat belts, fabric door release pulls, and a red top centre marker on the steering wheel. There are a few very minor wear markers on the driver’s side lower bolster, but the trim is otherwise in superb order, commensurate with the very low mileage.

In July 2020, the car was put through a 111-point check, which it passed with no items of concern. The last intermediate maintenance was carried out in January 2019 at 15,205 km by Porsche Centre Swindon. Prior to this, it was seen by the same main dealer in December 2016 at 15,174 km - when the spark plugs were also changed - and before this in July 2013 at 7,291 km at Porsche Zentrum Maienfeld.

The last MOT test took place on 21 May 2020 at 9,460 miles (15,224 km), when it achieved a first-time pass with no advisories whatsoever. The wheels are shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, with the rear items having been replaced in July 2020, and the front tyres being renewed at the same time as the January 2019 service.

Accompanying the car is a complete German-language book pack as shown in the photo gallery, including the GT3 RS handbook, the RS 4.0 supplement, PCM user guide, and the original stamped guarantee and maintenance record. Documentation for the extended warranty is also present, which runs to 16 January 2023.

This Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 is a sensational performance car, boasting a truly addictive driving experience. Its powerful naturally aspirated ‘Mezger’ flat-six works in total harmony with sublime dynamics, while of course it also benefits from legendary Porsche reliability and build quality. Writing about the car at its launch, Evo magazine’s Roger Green said: “It is the ultimate 911, and you could easily argue it’s all the car you’ll ever need. It will become an icon”. Just over nine years later, he has certainly been proven right. This is an unmissable opportunity to acquire one of the all-time greats, presented in superb order and ready to enjoy.
