2011 PORSCHE 911 (997.2) GT3 RS - SHARKWERKS 4.1

KEY FACTS

• An upgraded version of a modern performance icon, with a remarkable custom motor producing around 20% more power than the standard GT3 RS.
• Under the engine lid is a Sharkwerks 4.1-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, producing around 540hp, coupled to a six-speed manual transmission.
• As well as the bespoke engine installation, it has been extensively refurbished by Porsche Centre Gelderland, and has been owned by the seller for around three years.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• At the heart of this build is the 4.1-litre Sharkwerks-developed flat-six, which takes the already incredible 'Mezger' engine to new levels. It incorporates a CNC-machined billet lightweight 80.44mm crankshaft, a shuffle-pinned and boar-tailed case, all new rods and studs, and larger and lighter pistons. The headgasket is upgraded, along with the high-performance camshafts and cam adjuster, clutch and flywheel. The 4.1-litre engine output has been recorded at 543hp, giving it 20% more power than the standard 3.8-litre motor.
• Resprayed in the Willow Green hue, the car certainly stands out from the crowd, while the interior is trimmed in black leather and Alcantara, with custom green and blue tartan seat centre panels.
• The paintwork has been given a full application of spray-on paint protection film.
• It rides on a set of 19-inch Forgeline GA1R-CL forged monoblock alloy wheels.
• In the cabin, there is a Target Blue Eye warning system, plus a high-end Gray Audio stereo.
• Included with the car are the original books and fhe service record, plus invoices for the restoration done by Porsche Centre Gelderland and the 4.1 Sharkwerks conversion.

CONDITION

• There is no known prior bodywork damage, and the panels all present very well, having been restored and resprayed at Porsche Centre Gelderland.
• Its Willow Green paintwork is in generally very good order, with the seller noting some small stone chips around the front end of the car, as well as on the rear wheel arches and side mirrors. The black front lip spoiler also has some scratches.
• Inside, the custom leather and Alcantara trim is in great condition, with modest signs of use by no heavy wear. The seller reports that the steering wheel would benefit from being tightened up.
• There are no known mechanical or electrical faults.

SERVICE HISTORY

Last serviced by Porsche Centre Gelderland, the invoices in the gallery show the work carried out, and the car is reported to be in excellent running order.

Prior routine services were also carried out in 2017 and 2015.

SUMMARY

Writing about the Sharkwerks 4.1 engine in Excellence magazine in 2014, motoring journalist Ian Kuah said the custom motor had “absolutely explosive energy”, adding that it resulted in “a GT3 RS that goes as hard as a Turbo but with throttle response only dreamed of by the forced-induction engine”.
