KEY FACTS

• A striking example of the coveted ‘last hurrah’ for the 997.2 generation 911, presented in superb condition.
• Its engine is the 408bhp ‘Power Kit’ version of the 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and with the optional limited-slip differential as per the 997 Sport Classic.
• It has been in the current ownership for nearly 18 months, having been purchased from a friend who had owned the car since 2012. There are just three previous keepers on the V5C.
• The car has comprehensive biennial service history, including a very recent £7,500 overhaul with a new clutch and flywheel.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• The 997.2 Carrera GTS features the wide body usually reserved for all-wheel-drive and RS models, the SportDesign front bumper, GT2 RS side skirts, revised suspension, and unmarked black 19-inch RS Spyder centre-lock alloy wheels.
• This car is finished in the rare hue of Aqua Blue, accented by red brake callipers behind the black wheels.
• The car features a sunroof, red seat belts, cruise control, Sport Chrono Package, Porsche Sports Exhaust, LSD, Short Shift gear shifter, Bose sound system, PCM with navigation, and heated sport seats.
• Inside, the transmission tunnel is painted in the body colour and there is black leather for the seat bolsters, rear seat bases, and front headrests, which are embossed with the Porsche crest. The seat centres, door handles and armrests, SportDesign steering wheel, gear shifter, handbrake, and headlining are all trimmed in black Alcantara.
• It is believed to be one of less than 100 rear-wheel drive manual 997.2 GTS cars registered in the UK.
• Accompanying the car are all user guides, though the stamped service book is not present. However, all service invoices are included to support the full service history.

CONDITION

• There is no known prior bodywork damage, other than superficial scratches from parking grazes on the bumpers, which have been repaired.
• The offside front wing repeater lens has a hairline crack, and the last service noted some scuffs on the black plastic front splitter and underside of the car.
• Its Aqua Blue paintwork is reported to be in generally excellent condition, with the only known remedial work being to the bumpers as mentioned.
• The interior is in very good condition, showing signs of use on the front seats, but no significant wear.
• There are no known electrical faults, and all of the switchgear works as it should.
• The most recent MOT test was on 19 November 2020 at 69,642 miles, which resulted in a pass with an advisory for a chip on the upper nearside of the windscreen. The windscreen has now been replaced with a genuine Porsche item.

SERVICE HISTORY

• Since purchase the current owner has sent the car to Parr Motorsport who have refreshed the car from its 70,000-mile life at a cost of more than £7,000. 
• In March 2021 at 70,226 miles, the Carrera GTS was sent to Parr Motorsport for a minor service and overhaul. This included an engine oil and filter change, fresh brake fluid, a new pollen filter and drive belt tensioner (a common weak spot on the 997.2). More significantly, Parr carried out a full clutch and dual-mass flywheel replacement.
• A fresh rev check has been carried out at Parr, which is shown in the gallery, recording ignitions in Range 1 only; with zero ignitions in Range 2 or higher.
• Parr also saw the car in November 2020 at 69,627 miles. The car received new front lower suspension arms, front inner steering arms, and rear toe arms. A fresh set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres were fitted with a full ‘fast road’ geometry setup carried out. The headlamp levelling arms were also replaced, along with the exhaust flange fixtures and gaskets, and the drive belt tensioner.
• The spark plugs were renewed during the March 2019 service at 60,485 miles, while the auxiliary drive belt was replaced by Porsche Centre Guildford in July 2017 at 44,269 miles.
