• Under the bonnet is the N54 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six, driven through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

• Offered from six-year ownership, it has been given regular oil changes every 3,000km over this period, and has just two keepers from new.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• While the car has been modified, all of the original parts - except the alloy wheels - are included in the sale, should the next owner wish to return some elements to the standard factory setup.
• Original factory equipment includes dual-zone climate control, cruise control, rear parking sensors, BMW Professional media and navigation with voice control, and the Harman Kardon sound system.
• Its bodywork is painted in Black Sapphire Metallic, which has been treated to a custom Avery SW900 Dark Green vinyl wrap. It also has carbon mirror caps and a carbon rear spoiler from BMW Performance.
• The car now rides on lightweight ProTrack alloy wheels in size 10x18in at the front and 11x18in rear, with 265-section front and 295-section rear Pirelli Trofeo R tyres.
• Inside, it has been given a ‘rear seat delete’ treatment, now equipped with a Heigo Clubsport half roll-cage with harness bar, and a bespoke Alcantara-trimmed board. The leather front seats have been removed, and in their place are Recaro Pole Position items with original E92 M3 GTS consoles and Schroth six-point safety harnesses.
• The suspension has been replaced with a KW Clubsport 2-way system with custom spring rates, set up by Custom Racetec in Germany. There is a Drexler limited-slip differential in place of the factory item, with a 3.45:1 ratio from BMW Motorsport. The front control arms have spherical bearings while the rear axle trailing arms have solid aluminium bushings.
• Braking is by AP Racing Pro 5000R callipers at the front, fitted with barely used PFC pads and uprated discs that have covered only 500km. There is front axle brake cooling directly to the disc with carbon plates. At the rear, the brake pads have been upgraded.
• The engine has been enhanced with a remap to 395 PS and 630 Nm of torque, complemented by a HJS downpipe with N55 midpipe in combination with the original rear silencer. The secondary catalytic converter has been removed. Cooling is improved by a Mishimoto aluminium water cooler and two additional oil coolers connected with Dash 10 upgraded lines.
• All modifications are registered and noted in the official TÜV paperwork.
• As stated, the original parts removed are also included in the sale, with the exception of the alloy wheels.
• All original handbooks and user guides are included, plus the maintenance record booklet.

CONDITION

• There is no prior bodywork damage.
• The Sapphire Black Metallic paintwork underneath the wrap is original, and was in excellent condition when the vinyl was applied. The current Avery Green wrap is still in very good condition overall, though has some slight peeling around the front bumper, as shown in the photos.
• Inside, the Recaro seats are in great shape, and the rest of the interior trim is in good order. There is minor surface wear in line with the mileage, with the iDrive system controller showing signs of use and some minor peeling of the silver ring coating. The floor mats are also showing their age.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical faults.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The car will be freshly serviced at a local BMW dealership ready for handover to the next owner.
• In January 2021, the car received a full inspection, oil change and brake fluid change. The owner has also performed oil changes himself.
• Prior recent services were in April 2020 and April 2019, both again with oil and brake fluid changes.
• During 2017/18, there is a missing service stamp as this maintenance was done by the owner while the car received the upgraded oil coolers. There are invoices on file covering this work though.

SUMMARY

This BMW 1M Coupe is a modern performance icon, which has been extensively upgraded during the current ownership to deliver an even more responsive and exciting M-car driving experience. The overall goal was to create a very well-rounded ‘club sport’ style car; perfectly capable of driving to a circuit in comfort, and then lapping it with deft handling and taut body control. High-quality parts were chosen for the build, and it has only ever been serviced by BMW main dealers with the odd oil change by the owner. The well-judged modifications only serve to enhance the most impressive aspects of the 1M, resulting in a car that is a thrill to drive on road or track, and which is ready to be enjoyed.
