2010 PORSCHE 911 (997.2) CARRERA 2S

Finished in a rare colour combination and having covered only 46,447 miles from new, this 2010 Porsche 911 Carrera S is a great example of a 997.2 variant. It is powered by a 380bhp naturally aspirated flat-six, with rear-wheel drive via the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission with the optional paddle shift. Praised for its smaller footprint than the 991 that came after it, and mixing analogue feel with modern technology, this is something of a ‘sweet spot’ in the 911 back catalogue.

The car is finished in Carrara White with gorgeous and rare Cocoa leather paired with white instrument dials. Its high factory specification includes the Sport Chrono pack, with 'Sport' and 'Sport Plus' modes to sharpen up throttle response and gear changes. It also has the desirable Porsche Switchable Sports Exhaust to enhance the noise of the flat-six, heated seats, rear parking sensors, Bose sound system with Bluetooth connectivity, and a rear wiper.

First registered on 28 May 2010, there are six former registered keepers recorded on the log book. The car has been owned the vendor for the last year, in which time he has enjoyed around 3,000 miles behind the wheel.

The Carrara White paintwork is in good condition, with only some minor stone chips that are to be expected from a car of this age, and one scuff on the offside sill noted by the seller. Its history file indicates a small smart repair carried out on the rear bumper in October 2018. The door jambs, engine bay and boot shuts are all in good order, as are the door and window seals. A set of front bumper grilles has been fitted to protect the radiators from stones and other debris. The dark grey 19-inch SportDesign wheels are free of kerbing marks, and are accented by the standard red brake calipers and coloured Porsche crest centre caps.

Moving inside, the handsome Cocoa leather is in very good order, with the only noted blemish being a 1cm scuff on the panel above the glovebox. The seats show minimal wear and the full brown carpets appear to be in excellent condition. Factory-fitted equipment includes heated seats, climate control, satellite navigation and PASM electronically adjustable dampers. The car features retro-fitted cruise control using original Porsche OEM components.

The car has been serviced every two years by Official Porsche Centres per the manufacturer schedule, though the owner also put it through an extra service in 2019 to ensure the car was in fine fettle. Its last maintenance visit was to marque specialist Parr Porsche in October 2019 at 45,699 miles, comprising a minor service and new tyres all round.

Prior to this, it was given a major service by Porsche Centre Mid-Sussex in October 2018 at 41,522 miles, and a minor service by Porsche Centre Cardiff in October 2016 at 26,717 miles.

The seller notes that the car has as small leak of fluid from the rear wiper motor seal, which is still awaiting repair. A thorough inspection confirmed this was the only source of the leak, and an invoice has already been prepared for the new seal and grommet costing just £15 (part numbers 99762891000 and 99762827300). Unfortunately, Porsche closed the supply of parts before they could be obtained, but it is evidently an inexpensive fix for the next owner.

The most recent MOT test was on 23 February 2020 at 46,436 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories whatsoever. In fact, every one of its annual MOTs from new has been a first-time pass, and it has never had any advisories apart from the tester noting the presence of factory-fitted undertrays.

The alloys are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres all round, in size 235/35 ZR19 at the front and 295/30 ZR19 at the rear. They were fitted during the 2019 service less than 1,000 miles ago, and remain in virtually as-new condition.

Accompanying the car is the original book pouch, housing the driver’s manual, stamped guarantee and maintenance record, and all other user guides. Two keys are also present, along with a raft of invoices and receipts. The seller states that there is a Bluetooth adapter to pair with the latest iPhones, and that a CTEK trickle charger is also included, with a connecting plug conveniently wired to the battery.

This Porsche 997 Carrera S is a wonderfully capable and high-performance sports car, which would be a fantastic companion for exciting road trips, but which is sufficiently refined and practical to be a very smart daily driver. Boasting a rare colour scheme and a range of desirable factory options - which are expensive to retrofit if missing - this 997.2 has also been very well maintained, and should prove to be a superb purchase for its next owner.

Please note: the cherished plate shown on the car is not included in the sale. It has been switched back to an age-related registration plate, WP10 PFK, and the new V5 is with the car.
