*** WITHDRAWN ***

Due to information that came to light during the auction regarding previous damage, it was felt that this car was no longer accurately described. Therefore, Collecting Cars made the decision to temporarily withdraw the car, per clause 10.2 of our Terms and Conditions.

Interested parties are welcome to get in touch to discuss the opportunities for purchasing the car with this information now known.

This Porsche 911 (997.2) GT3 RS is a low-mileage and well-maintained example of a stunning track-focused performance car, with an eye-catching factory specification. Power comes from a high-revving 450hp 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer indicates 12,250 miles from new.

First registered in the UK on 28 July 2010, it is understood that this GT3 RS was sold on immediately after delivery to a buyer in Hong Kong, where it remained for the next seven years. It was evidently kept in good mechanical order while in Asia, and it returned in late 2017 with just over 11,000 miles on the odometer.

Today, this 911’s bodywork is reported to be in good condition, with flush shut lines and consistent panel gaps. Finished in the lesser-seen Aqua Blue, the exterior is accented by a bright red grille surround, GT3 RS decals, wing mirror housings, and rear wing end plates.

The vendor reports that the rear bumper has been replaced following track damage, and the offside rear quarter has previously been repainted. Previous paint repairs have also been improved more recently. There are some stone chips around the front end. The car rides on 19-inch centre-lock alloy wheels, which are also finished in bright red to match.

Inside, this GT3 RS is equipped with the lightweight carbon-fibre bucket seats, upholstered in black Nomex cloth with contrast stitching and with ‘RS 3.8’ motifs embroidered in the headrests. The half roll cage is finished in red to continue the colour theme, as are the seat belts, and all of the instrument dial faces. The steering wheel, gear lever, handbrake, door armrests, and the headlining are all trimmed in Alcantara, which remains in excellent condition. All of the switchgear works as it should, and there are no known electrical faults.

Its last scheduled maintenance was a routine service at JZM Porsche in January 2021 at 12,099 miles. During this visit a diagnostic check was carried out which showed 832 ignitions in rev range 1 and 38 ignitions in rev range 2, with no ignitions in any of the higher engine speed bandings. In March 2021, the car was also fitted with a new front suspension lift pump unit, at a cost of £7,632.

In October 2019 at 11,316 miles, this 911 was given a 48-month interval maintenance service at Porsche Centre West London. This included a new poly-rib drive belt, air cleaner and particle filter, two new stabiliser links, fresh brake fluid and spark plugs. A new ignition coil was installed in 2017 at 17,899 km while the car was still in Hong Kong, while it also received a major service in November 2013 at 10,740 km. The latter included four new control valves, new sill covers, a new clutch and pressure plate, new O2 sensors, spark plugs, and exhaust gaskets.

The most recent MOT test was on 10 February 2021 at 12,110 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories or defects whatsoever. All four Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres are brand new.

Accompanying the car are the original handbooks, the guarantee and maintenance record, plus a very good history file of paperwork as shown in the gallery below. All of the tools are present, along with the tyre inflator.

This Porsche 997.2 GT3 RS is a great example of a sensational road and track car, which is among the most sought-after of contemporary Rennsport models. With its high-revving naturally aspirated ‘Mezger’ engine and slick manual transmission, this is a landmark analogue performance car, which will surely remain coveted by collectors and keen drivers for decades to come.
