2010 PORSCHE 911 (997.2) CARRERA 4S

This 2010 Porsche 997.2 Carrera 4S is an exciting yet refined contemporary sports car, presented in an ever-popular factory colour scheme and with comprehensive maintenance history. Under the engine lid is the naturally aspirated 3.8-litre DFI flat-six, which produces 380bhp and drives all four wheels via an engaging six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 51,743 miles from new.

An original UK-market car, this Carrera 4S was first registered in June 2010, and has been cherished by the seller for the last three-and-a-half years.

Today, the flowing bodywork is in great shape, with flush shut lines and no evidence of any prior accident damage. The GT Silver paintwork is believed to be entirely original, with the only blemishes of note being a small scratch below the rear passenger-side window and some small stone chips on the nose. In December 2019, the car received a full single-stage machine polish and CS light protection, and the front end was given an application of Llumar paint protection film. The exterior has also been enhanced with the addition of a set of Zunsport mesh front grilles, which protect the heat exchangers from errant stones and leaves. This 911 rides on the correct set of 19-inch five-spoke Carrera Classic alloy wheels, which feature a couple of very minor chips and scratches, but are free of any scrapes or damage.

Moving inside, the cabin is trimmed in its original black leather upholstery, and presents very well. Both of the front seats are in very good order, with only minor creases on their bolsters, in line with the car’s mileage. The rear seats show few signs of use, and the leather-wrapped steering wheel and carbon-fibre gear knob are very smart. Also clad in black leather, the dashboard is in good condition; however the vendor notes that there are three small marks on its passenger-side, where a prior keeper had mounted a phone holder or similar device. Factory-fitted equipment includes heated front seats, climate control and rear parking sensors. All of the car’s buttons, switches and electrical items work without fault, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

This contemporary Porsche’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out in August 2020 at 51,255 miles by independent Porsche specialist RPM Specialist Cars. An intermediate service; this included replacement of the engine oil, oil filter, pollen filter, brake fluid and spark plugs, while the drive belt was also inspected, and the nearside door window regulator was replaced. Prior to this, the drive belt was replaced in May 2018 at 49,928 miles and another intermediate service was completed in February 2018 at 44,847 miles.

During the vendor’s ownership, the car has been maintained to a high standard. In addition to its services, the PCM unit was refurbished at a cost of more than £1,000 in June 2019; and a leaking driver’s-side rear shock absorber was replaced by RPM in May 2019, when both front air-conditioning radiators were also changed and the system was re-gassed. Furthermore, all four brake calliper link-pipes were changed in February 2018, and the driver’s door window regulator was changed in June 2018. Documentation of recent maintenance and repairs is shown in the gallery below.

Its last MOT test was conducted on 20 January 2021 at 51,596 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with one advisory for wear and slight corrosion the rear brake discs, though this was deemed not to be seriously weakened. All four wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres, which the vendor states are around one year old and are in good condition.

The car will be accompanied by its service book, which is stamped from February 2012 to the present day, as well as invoices for its recent maintenance.

This Porsche 997.2 Carrera 4S is a versatile and sophisticated sports car, which has been cherished by its current owner and is presented in great condition throughout. Featuring an engaging manual transmission, it would make an excellent companion for warm-weather drives and long-distance road trips alike, but it could just as easily be put into service as a stylish and highly capable daily driver.
