2010 BMW (E63) M6 COMPETITION EDITION

KEY FACTS

• A thrilling and generously equipped modern classic grand tourer, which is also an exceptionally rare Competition Edition model.
• Under the bonnet is the 5.0-litre naturally aspirated ‘S85’ V10, which sends 507bhp and 384lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via the seven-speed automated SMG-III transmission with paddle shift.
• While BMW initially planned to produce 100 individually numbered examples of the M6 Competition Edition, it is believed that only 63 examples left the factory, and that this is one of only eight right-hand drive cars supplied worldwide and the last registered UK M6.
• This example was first registered in March 2011, and was acquired by the seller three years ago, with three previous keepers.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• First announced at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, the M6 Competition Edition features revised springs and dampers, a 10mm lower ride height at the front and 12mm lower at the rear, more lenient stability control and ABS settings, a reworked differential, half-inch wider alloy wheels and a redesigned bonnet with dual central strakes.
• As seen on this example, each Competition Edition car was also finished with satin Frozen Grey paintwork and an exposed carbon-fibre roof panel.
• Inside, the cabin is fully trimmed in BMW Individual black Merino and Nappa leather, which extends across the dashboard, centre console, glove box lid and door cards, and is accented by Silverstone grey stitching. The interior is matched with Piano Black lacquer interior fittings and an individually numbered plaque just above the rear-view mirror.
• Alcantara headlining throughout the cabin and anthracite floor mats featuring Silverstone trim, provided only in Competition Edition cars.
• Factory-fitted equipment includes the BMW Individual Audio DIRAC package with 16 high-performance speakers, model-specific illuminated door sill covers, adaptive xenon headlights, a heads-up display, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, heated and electrically adjustable seats, a six-disc CD changer together with a 60GB HDD music storage system, High Beam Assistant, Bluetooth mobile phone preparation and Voice Control, DAB, BMW Professional satellite navigation, USB Audio and keyless entry.
• It rides on the correct set of widened 19-inch ‘167M Competition’ alloy wheels, which are pristine.
• The car will be accompanied by its original handbook, ‘mini guide’, brochure, price list and stamped service book, as well full documentation of its service history, its full tool kit and EU warning triangle and bespoke M-branded indoor car cover.
• The car is covered by a fully transferable BMW Insured Warranty (at the highest ‘Comprehensive’ Mechanical and Electrical Component Cover level) until July 2022, with the claim limit being set at the purchase price of the insured vehicle when new, which is LD11 CXC’s case was in excess of £100,000. This warranty is extendable up to at least 100,000 miles and covers the car not only in the UK/ROI but also Continental Europe, and also includes BMW Roadside Assistance which provides a wide range of benefits, including car hire, vehicle recovery and redelivery.

CONDITION

• There is no known bodywork damage.
• The Frozen Grey paintwork is in very good overall condition, with a few small blemishes including stone chips on the bonnet, and scuffs on the driver’s wheel arch and rear lower valance, in line with the car’s mileage and road use.
• Inside, the black leather-trimmed cabin is in superb order, and while there is some light creasing on the front seats, the steering wheel, interior trim items and switchgear present particularly well.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical faults with the car, and there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard.
• Its last MOT test was conducted on 8 July 2021 at 25,311 miles, which resulted in a clean, first-time pass.
• Recent full set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres with only some 400 miles of use.

SERVICE HISTORY

• This M6’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out in May 2021 at 25,295 miles by the technicians at MP Automotive, who changed the engine oil, oil filter and microfilter, as well as replacing the driver’s-side front ABS rear pulse transmitter.
