KEY FACTS

• An excellent example of the rare limited-edition sports coupe, presented in a timeless colour scheme and fresh from a minor service.
• It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 3.4-litre flat-six, which produces 299bhp and drives the rear wheels via a short-shifting six-speed manual transmission.
• First registered in October 2008, this is number 240 of the 700 Cayman S Sport models produced, as shown on the silver plaque affixed to its glovebox lid.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Introduced prior to the launch of the facelifted 987.2-generation Cayman in 2009, the limited edition S Sport model is particularly well-equipped as standard, and features the Porsche Sports Exhaust, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with a 10mm reduction in ride height, and the sought-after Sport Chrono package.
• Additional equipment includes hard-backed sport seats, a black Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, and a set of 19-inch alloy wheels with 5mm spacers.
• This particular example was specified in Carrara White with black ‘Cayman S’ decals on its sides and a black leather interior with a leather-wrapped dashboard and door panels.
• Options include heated seats, climate control, rear parking sensors and automatic speed control.
• While it is almost entirely standard, the car has been fitted with a more up-to-date Pioneer infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, though the original unit is also included in the sale.
• The car will be accompanied by all of its original manuals and handbooks, which are contained in their correct document wallet.

CONDITION

• No bodywork damage.
• The Carrara White paintwork is in excellent condition, having been detailed and covered in a ceramic coating in January 2021.
• The finish is almost entirely original, apart from on the front bumper, which was resprayed in 2020 by Porsche-approved bodyshop SL Restoration to correct a number of minor scuffs and stone chips.
• The black ‘Cayman S’ decals on the car’s flanks are beginning to deteriorate, and may benefit from replacement or removal, depending on the buyer’s preference.
• Inside, the cabin is in great shape, and while there are some minor creases and wear to the seat bolsters, this is in line with the car’s age and mileage.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical faults.
• The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 26 October 2020 at 62,767 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with one advisory for a nail in the nearside rear tyre. However, a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres were fitted earlier this year, and have covered fewer than 500 miles to date.

SERVICE HISTORY

• This Cayman S Sport has just received an oil and filter service with Porsche specialist Nine Excellence in June 2021.
• Prior to this, it had a major service in October 2019 at 58,994 miles, and was also serviced in October 2018 at 54,573 miles.
• The car was also treated to a full mechanical inspection by Nine Excellence in September 2020, who replaced any components which were deemed to be in less than excellent condition. This included the front suspension dampers, the front and rear control arms, the track rods, the anti-roll bar bushes and the steering bushes.

SUMMARY

This Porsche Cayman S Sport is a fine example of the rare limited-edition mid-engined coupe, which is particularly well-equipped and is presented in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. Number 240 of only 700 produced, and thought to be one of only 69 UK-market cars, this special Cayman will make a fine addition to any collection, and is ready to drive and enjoy immediately.
