2007 PORSCHE (987) CAYMAN S RACE CAR

This 2007 Porsche (987) Cayman S is a superb racing conversion, presented with a crisp Carrara White finish and in excellent condition throughout. It is equipped with a 3.4-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, which drives the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently indicates just 1,327 miles from new.

Originally a Belgian-delivered left-hand drive road car, it was converted to motorsport specifications by GPR Pino Racing in Belgium for a Middle East client, who then decided to go single-seat racing instead. The car was then put into storage after being completed, and now presents in virtually unused condition. It was shipped to the UK more than seven years ago, and has subsequently been fully inspected by Porsche specialists. This included an ECU check to verify the low mileage, and also confirm that the car had not been over-revved.

An unregistered race car conversion, this Cayman S boasts a number of high-performance modifications, including 997 GT3 brake discs and six-pot callipers, GT3 lower arms and a GT3 RS front anti-roll bar and bushes, plus Moton dampers and Eibach springs. There is also a lightweight clutch and flywheel, Krontec air jack system, limited-slip differential, and a modified ECU, among various weight-saving measures. To the best of the vendor’s knowledge, the bodywork has never sustained any damage, and the panels all appear to be in great shape. It is also fitted with rare and costly lightweight carbon composite doors with Perspex windows. The condition of the Carrara White paintwork has been described as excellent and presents with minimal wear throughout, while all of the body trims are also in very good order. The vehicle rides on a set of 18-inch BBS split alloy wheels, which are in excellent condition, and come wrapped in a set of Yokohama tyres.

Inside, the cabin features a single OMP bucket seat with a Willans harness, an OMP racing steering wheel, a full AMP roll cage and a fire extinguisher in the passenger footwell. Much of the interior trim, including the door cards, carpets and centre console housing has been removed to save weight, while the infotainment unit has been replaced with a master kill switch panel. All of the equipment is believed to work as it should, though the vendor reports the PSM light is present on the dashboard.

Accompanying the vehicle is the full specification list and a selection of inspection and maintenance invoices from 2013 and 2014, when the car was seen by Fearnsport RPM Technik, and 911 Sport in Lincolnshire.
