2007 BMW (E92) M3

This BMW M3 is a well-maintained and low-mileage example of a wonderful performance coupe. Under the bonnet is the 414bhp 4.0-litre S65 V8 - “one of the greatest naturally aspirated engines ever made” according to Evo magazine - which is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows just 19,526 miles from new.

This car was first registered in December 2007 and has just one previous registered keeper on the log book. The seller acquired the car nearly five years ago, and has since enjoyed some 5,500 miles behind the wheel. Shortly after buying it, he decided to change the colour in an easily-reversed way, by wrapping the original Interlagos Blue paint in a Space Grey vinyl wrap.

Today, the bodywork remains in superb condition throughout, with flush shut lines and no panel damage. The paint is well protected by the vinyl wrap, which does have a few small marks and chips in the material. There are also carbon-effect coatings for the door mirrors, bonnet and wing vents, front grille and air ducts, and sill covers, as well as black badges on the front, rear, and wheel caps. While these additions and the various tri-colour M accents on the front grille and roof aerial may not be to all tastes, they are of course entirely reversible should the next owner wish. It rides on 19-inch ‘Style 359’ alloy wheels, which are pristine.

In the cabin, its Palladium Silver leather presents beautifully, with very little wear to speak of. The bolsters on the supportive and electrically adjustable sport seats look superb, with only minor scuffs on the driver’s side - and there is no ‘puddling’ or unsightly creasing in any of the upholstery. There are small M stickers on the central air vents, but otherwise the interior has not been modified, so retains the original steering wheel, gear knob, and floor mats. Factory-fitted equipment includes cruise control, climate control, rear parking sensors, and the BMW Professional media system with satellite navigation.

Its last scheduled maintenance was carried out in October 2018 at 18,301 miles by Cooper BMW in Colchester, which comprised a standard oil service. Prior to this the brake fluid was renewed in November 2017, and it received another oil service in September 2016, also at Cooper BMW. During the seller’s ownership, the brake calipers have also been painted red.

Its most recent MOT test was carried out on 5 September 2019 at 19,290 miles. Initially, a daytime running light was found to be faulty, but this was immediately rectified and it subsequently achieved a clean pass with no advisories. The Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are approximately three years old, with 6-7mm of tread remaining on all four corners.

Accompanying the car are all of the original books, including the stamped maintenance record. The tyre inflator, tools, locking wheel nut key, and first aid kit are all present, as well as two keys.

This BMW M3 is a low mileage E92 model, which is presented in excellent condition throughout. During the seller’s ownership, it has always been stored in a heated garage when not in use, and it comes with comprehensive BMW main dealer history. Its cosmetic modifications could be reversed by the next owner if they desire, but this car remains mechanically standard and in fine fettle. As the first and last V8-engined M3, it is a collectable modern classic, which is also a joy to drive.
