2005 PORSCHE 911 (997) CARRERA S - 17,516 MILES

This Porsche 911 (997) Carrera S is a stunning modern sports car, featuring a rare Natural Brown leather interior and with incredibly low mileage from new. It is in remarkably good condition, and boasts an excellent factory specification. Under the rear engine cover is the 355bhp 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, which drives the rear wheels via the engaging six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows a mere 17,516 miles.

First registered on 23 June 2005, this original right-hand drive Carrera S is particularly well-equipped, having been specified with around £12,000 worth of options – and with the original invoice available. These include adaptive sport seats, a Bose sound system, parking sensors, auto-dimming mirrors and a tyre pressure monitoring system, as well as extended leather upholstery in its cosseting cabin. The car is now offered for sale by its third owner, who acquired it around 18 months ago.

The sculpted bodywork is in great shape, with no evidence of any prior damage and tight panel gaps. Its demure Seal Grey metallic paint finish is also in excellent condition, with the only noticeable blemish being a tiny chip on the driver’s door, which is visible in the full gallery, but is barely noticeable in the metal.

This 911 rides on its original set of 19-inch ‘Carrera Classic’ five-spoke alloy wheels, which are in very good order, though there are some very minor kerb scratches on the edge of the front passenger-side item. The car also features a set of full-colour Porsche crest centre caps, which present well, but are showing small signs of delamination.

In the cabin, this Carrera S was specified with the extended leather option, which sees the top of the dashboard and the door caps being clad in the same gorgeous Natural Brown hide as the rest of the interior. In addition, the sun visors are leather-wrapped, along with the rear section of the centre console.

Both of the heated adaptive sport seats are in great shape, and while the vendor notes that there is a tiny scratch on the painted back of the driver’s seat and another on the rear section of the centre console, these do not detract from the interior’s impressive overall condition. Elsewhere, the matching brown carpeting and interior trim present very well indeed, and the seller states that the cabin retains its ‘new leather’ scent.

Factory-fitted options include a premium Bose sound system, fire extinguisher, rear parking sensors, auto-dimming mirrors, stainless steel sill covers, tyre pressure monitoring, PCM telephone module, and a tracking system. The current owner states that all of the interior buttons, switches and electrical items work correctly, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.

Well-cared for by its current and previous owners, this 997-generation Carrera S is in superb mechanical order, as you may expect from such a low-mileage example. Its most recent routine maintenance was a major service, carried out in June 2019 at 16,905 miles by Porsche Centre Guildford. Consisting of an engine oil, gearbox oil, brake fluid and drive belt change, this also saw the particle filter being replaced. A detailed borescope examination was also conducted to check for any undue wear or damage, which resulted in no adverse findings.

Prior to this, minor services were carried out in December 2016, June 2012 and May 2011, and a major service was completed in May 2009. Its latest MOT test was conducted on 8 February 2021 at an indicated 17,522 miles, resulting in a clean first-time pass.

All four alloy wheels are shod in Pirelli P Zero Rosso tyres in size 295/30 ZR19 at the front and 235/35 ZR19 at the rear. While the vendor is unsure as to their age, each appears to be in good condition and has sufficient usable tread remaining.

This attractive modern Porsche will be accompanied by its stamped service book and invoices for prior maintenance, plus a number of previous MOT test certificates.

This Porsche Carrera S is a collector-quality example of the breed, which features an attractive and lesser-seen factory colour combination and has evidently been used sparingly over the last 15 years. Supplied in excellent cosmetic and mechanical order; it is very rare to find a 997-generation car in such original and low-mileage condition, so this example is bound to appeal to marque collectors as well as the keen drivers who want to enjoy it on the road.
