2004 PORSCHE 911 (997) CARRERA

KEY FACTS

  • A strongly specified example of the acclaimed everyday sports car in great condition.
  • To the rear sits a 321bhp 3.6-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine, which drives the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.
  • This particular 911 is a former ‘Total 911’ magazine cover car, and featured in a regular monthly column by its automotive journalist owner.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • From the factory, this 911 was specified with a particularly driver-focused set of options, including the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system, Sport Chrono package, and switchable Porsche Sports Exhaust.
  • Unusually, it was also ordered without the sunroof, which will no doubt appeal to the purists among 911 enthusiasts.
  • In addition to the factory components, Paragon Porsche performance software has been installed, along with an IPD Plenum and performance air filter, and DSC Controller for the PASM and accelerator. It has also received a seven-year Crystal Serum Black ceramic coating to the paintwork, rounding off a set of costly enhancements that complement the impressive driving experience.
  • The wheels, hubs and brake calipers were all recently refurbished and a new set of coloured Porsche crest centre caps added, alongside new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S N-rated tyres, all with good tread remaining.
  • Included with the car is the original owner’s manual, book pack and stamped service record, a copy of the Total 911 issue in which the car appeared on the cover, and a plethora of invoices and other paperwork.

Specification:

  • Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)
  • Sport Chrono package
  • Switchable Porsche Sports Exhaust (PSE)
  • Sport steering wheel
  • Extended leather interior
  • Sunroof delete

CONDITION

  • The vendor notes there is a small dent on the rear offside bumper near the light, though this is the only known damage to the bodywork.
  • The Basalt Black paintwork is in excellent condition on account of the aforementioned ceramic coating, showing only light wear such as stone chips, in keeping with the car’s age and mileage.
  • Inside, the Stone Grey cabin presents very well for its age, with no damage or significant wear to any of the leather upholstery. The dashboard, door panels and headlining are all in great shape.
  • There are no known faults with the vehicle, and no warning lights on the dashboard.
  • The most recent MOT test took place just 163 miles ago on 8 July 2021 at 106,942 miles, resulting in a clean pass with no advisory items.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • Purchased by its last owner in 2012, this 911 has been fastidiously maintained, and has been serviced annually over the last nine years, regardless of mileage.
  • The most recent service took place in July 2021 at 106,942 miles, and was carried out by renowned marque specialist Paragon GB. This work comprised of an oil and filter change, along with a brake fluid change.
  • Prior to this, the car was serviced in July 2020 and April 2019, again by Paragon Porsche. The 2019 service was a major service including new spark plugs, drive belt and tensioner, gearbox oil change, brake discs and pads all round, new wishbones and a Hunter alignment alongside other items, at the cost of £5,472.00.
