2004 PORSCHE 911 (996) TURBO CABRIOLET

This 2004 Porsche 911 (996) Turbo Cabriolet is a well-maintained and very high-specification example of the marque’s convertible supercar. Powered by a 3.6-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six ‘Mezger’ engine coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox putting power down to all four wheels, this example shows 78,680 miles on the odometer.

First registered in Germany in May 2004, this 996 Turbo Cabriolet was purchased by the vendor from the first owner, and has been in their care since September 2004 – though the V5C keeper details have changed several times. In 2005, the car was fettled by AMD Tuning, increasing the power output to 496bhp and upping the torque to 484lb/ft.

The Basalt Black paintwork is in excellent condition, showing only the expected light stone chips to the front bonnet and inside of the rear wheel arches, commensurate with the mileage. The black soft top functions perfectly, but would benefit from some light cosmetic refurbishment. Its original wind deflector and the storage bag are also present. Thanks to their recent refurbishment, all four wheels are in great shape with no kerbing marks or other damage.

Inside, the tan leather interior is all original and presents in good condition throughout, showing only minor wear and marks. There are also some minor nicks to the leather and plastic trims around the ignition barrel, gearstick and near the electric seat controls. Factory-fitted features include heated front seats, climate control, cruise control, rear parking sensors, and the six-disc CD changer.

Maintained throughout its current ownership regardless of cost, this 996 Turbo Cabriolet has a well-documented history, and has benefitted from regular servicing. The last service took place at 78,602 miles, and was performed by BS Motorsport during March 2021. This comprised of a regular annual service, along with new front brake discs and pads, and an air-conditioning re-gas. In addition to this, the front bumper and both wing mirrors have been resprayed to tidy up the appearance of the car, along with all four wheels being refurbished.

Prior to this, the last two services were carried out during July 2019 at 69,975 miles and during May 2018 at 67,360 miles, performed by BS Motorsport and Tower Porsche respectively. During the 2019 service the vehicle was fitted with a new clutch and flywheel, while during 2018 a more comprehensive service was undertaken, including the fitting of a full complement of new tyres, fitting two new front differential seals, two control arms, two top mounts and bearings, a full four wheel alignment, and an air-conditioning re-gas.

The last MOT test took place on 17 March 2021, and resulted in a clean pass with no advisories. All four tyres are in good condition, with the rear tyres being fitted in 2018/2019 and the front tyres being fitted in 2018, though they are date-stamped to 2016. Included with the vehicle are the original Porsche books and documentation, a partially-stamped service history (though additional servicing invoices are included), and a print out of the dynamometer session that took place after the re-map.

In strong mechanical and smart cosmetic condition throughout, and with only two private owners from new, this Porsche 911 (996) Turbo Cabriolet is a high-specification modern classic. Any 911 Turbo delivers an exciting driving experience, and this example would be well-cared for addition to any collection, or could even be used as a fun daily runner.
