2004 PORSCHE 911 (996) CARRERA 4S CSR

KEY FACTS

• A truly one-off opportunity to acquire a low-mileage 996 Carrera 4S that has been reworked by marque specialists RPM Technik to a fantastic bespoke ‘CSR’ specification.
• It is powered by a 3.6-litre flat-six – with an upgraded IMS bearing – coupled to a six-speed manual transmission with a lightweight clutch and flywheel.
• The transformation at RPM Technik was started in December 2017 and completed in September 2018.
• It was acquired by the vendor one year ago, who has since enjoyed around 2,000 miles behind the wheel.
• The odometer shows only 54,337 miles from new.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• The CSR exterior upgrades include the unique carbon-fibre rear engine lid and integrated ‘ducktail’ spoiler, reminiscent of the 2.7 Carrera RS of 1973. There are also carbon-fibre wing mirrors and carbon-dipped sill panels.
• It rides on Fuchs alloy wheels, with satin-finish rims and black centre ‘petals’.
• In the cabin, the front seats have been swapped out for lightweight Recaro Pole Position buckets, upholstered in black fabric, while much of the rest of the interior – including the dashboard top and door card inserts - has been re-trimmed in black Alcantara with red deviating stitching. The gear knob and handbrake have had similar treatment, though they retain the original aluminium-look inlays.
• Ahead of the driver is a lightweight Momo deep-dish steering wheel with red top centre marker, while the original stereo system has been upgraded with an aftermarket Alpine Bluetooth and DAB head unit, improving sound quality for longer journeys.
• CSR-branded carbon door sill panel inlays and a yellow-backed rev counter also contribute to the special sense of occasion.
• Original factory options that have been retained include the alu-look gear shifter and handbrake lever trims, the rear screen wiper, Litronic xenon headlights, rear parking sensors, and the 6-disc CD changer.
• Offered for sale with all original handbooks and two keys, this Porsche also retains its factory-fit accessories including space-saver spare wheel, jack and tool kit. A comprehensive collection of invoices will also be provided, illustrating the detailed history.

CONDITION

• There is no known prior bodywork damage.
• The front end was previously treated to a professional respray in Basalt Black to provide a perfect finish for the Xpel paint protection film, and the whole bodywork was given a three-stage paint correction detail and ceramic coating to give it a superb finish.
• The front lip spoiler has some small grazes and stone chips, but in general the car presents in excellent condition. There is a small stone chip on the windscreen on the driver’s side, and the front headlight lenses display slight clouding, commensurate with the age of the car. There is also some peeling of the lacquer on the carbon wing mirrors.
• Inside, the Recaro seats are in very good order, showing no significant wear. The original draped leather rear seats are also in great condition.
• The most recent MOT test was carried out on 26 August 2021 at 54,346 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories.

SERVICE HISTORY

• This 911 was last serviced by RPM Technik in August 2020, which included renewal of the drive belts. The company’s CSR conversion work was completed in September 2018 and came to a total spend of some £40,000.
• During the upgrade process, in early 2018 the car was fitted with a more robust IMS bearing, as well as a lightweight clutch and flywheel, and a short-shift kit. The suspension was changed to KW Variant 3 coilover dampers, along with bespoke CSR lower arms, and a H&R anti-roll bar kit. RSS engine mounts were also installed, as well as a CSR exhaust system, IPD plenum and throttle body, and a BMC air filter.
• In December 2017 at 49,005 miles, the car was also fitted with a fresh set of spark plugs and coil packs, as well as a new alternator and replacement air-conditioning condensers.
