2004 PORSCHE 911 (996) 40TH ANNIVERSARY

KEY FACTS

• A rare, limited-edition sports car, which boasts a number of discreet modifications and is offered with a comprehensive maintenance history.
• Under the engine lid is the 3.6-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, which is equipped with the factory-fitted X51 Powerkit, sending 345bhp to the rear wheels via an engaging six-speed manual transmission.
• This example is number 348 of the 1,963 40th Anniversary Edition cars created to commemorate four decades of 911 production.
• The car has been serviced exclusively at Porsche Centres from new, and has been with its current owner for the past seven years, with only one previous keeper.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• This 40th Anniversary 996 features a host of factory-fitted options as standard, including the ‘X51’ Powerkit, a limited-slip differential, a 911 Turbo-style front bumper with painted air-inlets, aluminium-trim rings on the instrument cluster, and lowered ‘M030’ sport suspension.
• It is finished in GT Silver Metallic, while other features include climate control, CD preparation, electric sunroof, Alcantara headlining, rubber over mats and a top-tinted windscreen.
• The car rides on its original shot-blasted and polished 18-inch Carrera II lightweight alloy wheels.
• This car has been retrofitted with 911 GT3 style bucket seats with ‘Pepita’ houndstooth fabric inserts from Classic FX.
•  In addition to its upgraded seats, the car has also been fitted with an aftermarket induction kit with a modified airbox, a Tequipment roll cage and Porsche 918 Schroth harnesses – though all original parts will also be included in the sale.
• Accompanying this 911 its original owner’s book pack, Certificate of Authenticity, service book, maintenance paperwork, spare wheel, first aid kit and two keys.

CONDITION

• There is no known bodywork damage.
• The front and rear bumpers, the driver’s-side front wing and the driver’s-side door have previously been repainted to rectify various scratches and stone chips.
• Today, the GT Silver Metallic paintwork is in good overall condition, with stone chips to the front end of the car, the rear bumper, the lower wheel arches and the door mirror caps. A couple of small imperfections are also visible on the offside door handle and windscreen.
• There are a few blemishes on the alloy wheels, including on the Porsche-crested centre caps.  
• Moving inside, the cabin presents very well, with only some light signs of wear on the GT3 leather seats and the steering wheel, and a few small blemishes on the driver’s-side door card and sill cover.
• There are no known mechanical or electrical faults.
• This 996 is offered fresh from its most recent MOT test, which was conducted on 2 September 2021 at 104,066 miles and resulted in a clean, first-time pass.

SERVICE HISTORY

• This 911 was last serviced in May 2019 at 97,629 miles by main dealer Porsche Centre Cardiff, who performed an oil filter and fluid change.
• Prior to this, Porsche Centre Cardiff serviced the air conditioning and front suspension in June 2018, and the rear brakes in May 2018 at 93,044 miles. They also serviced the vehicle in April 2017 at 88,897 miles.
• Other maintenance undertaken by Porsche Centre Cardiff includes replacement of the clutch, IMS flange and seal, steering rack, pressure pipes, rear brake calliper, front springs, shock absorbers and mounts.
