KEY FACTS

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Boasting a specification that Total 911 magazine stated “verges on perfection”, the 40th Anniversary Edition 911 boasts the usually optional Powerkit as standard, which includes cast aluminium manifolds with a modified cross section; larger, machined and polished exhaust ducts, and a revised valvetrain.
• Each example is also fitted with a limited-slip differential and lowered ‘M030’ sport suspension, while external features include GT Silver paintwork, GT3-style side skirts and a redesigned front bumper featuring the air intakes from the 911 Turbo.
• It rides on a set of 18-inch Carrera II lightweight alloy wheels, which feature a unique shot-blasted and polished finish.
• This example has also been enhanced with the addition of a Dansk sports exhaust, and the infamous IMS bearing and seal have been replaced with uprated items from LN Engineering.
• Entertainment is provided via the retrofitted PCCM Plus infotainment system, which offers period-correct looks combined with modern functionality, including DAB+, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• This limited-edition 911 will be accompanied by its stamped service book, invoices detailing its maintenance from 2015 onwards, its MOT test certificates from 2008 onwards and the car’s original and highly sought-after luggage set.

CONDITION

• There is no known bodywork damage; however an incorrect side skirt was previously fitted on the passenger-side of the car, which may suggest that the original item had been damaged.
• Overall, the paintwork is in very good condition, with a few small marks including minor stone chips on the bonnet and front bumper, a blemish on the passenger-side C-pillar and a scratch on the driver’s side of the engine cover, which is in line with the car’s age and mileage.
• The rear bumper has previously been repainted to a very good standard to repair a small but deep scratch, which was present when the seller acquired the car.
• Furthermore, the exterior trim presents well, though there are some minor stone chips on the windscreen.
• The wheels still feature the correct polished finish, and are in great shape.
• Inside, the cabin is very smart, and while there are some light creases on the leather upholstery, a small scratch on the passenger seat’s inner bolster and scuffs on the passenger-side speaker surround, this is commensurate with the car’s use.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical faults, and there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard.
• The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 24 October 2020 at 51,321 miles, resulting in a clean, first-time pass.

SERVICE HISTORY

• As documented in a recent YouTube video, this 996’s latest routine maintenance was a substantial mechanical overhaul, which was carried out in December 2020 at approximately 50,500 miles by marque specialist Weissach UK.
• As well as a major service, this also included replacement of the front and rear brake discs and pads, the front and rear control arms, the exhaust system, the IMS bearing and clutch, the rear main seal, the clutch master cylinder, the suspension dampers and top mounts and the track rod ends, to name but a few items.
• Prior to this, services were performed by main dealer Porsche Centre Chester in March 2016 at 39,382 miles, and by Porsche Centre Guildford in October 2008 at 31,277 miles.
