2004 PORSCHE 911 (996) 40TH ANNIVERSARY

KEY FACTS

• A very smart example of the rare 40th Anniversary Edition 911, which offers improved performance over the standard car, as well as a number of unique cosmetic touches.

• Under the engine lid is the naturally-aspirated 3.6-litre flat-six, which produces 345bhp thanks to the factory-fitted X51 Powerkit, and drives the rear wheels via an engaging six-speed manual transmission.

• This example is marked as number 796 of the 1,963 40th Anniversary models produced, and is one of only around 200 cars created for the UK market.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Launched to celebrate 40 years of 911 production, the 40th Anniversary Edition Carrera features a number of unique performance and cosmetic enhancements.

• These included the previously mentioned X51 Powerkit, which comprises cast-aluminium intake manifolds with a modified cross section; larger, polished exhaust ducts, and an uprated drivetrain.

• Furthermore, each example is fitted with a limited-slip differential and lowered sport suspension.

• Externally, this limited-run special edition features GT Silver paintwork, GT3-style side skirts and a resigned front bumper with the air intakes from a 911 Turbo.

• It rides on a set of 18-inch Carrera II alloy wheels, which would originally have featured a unique polished finish, however these have since been refurbished in a more conventional silver hue, and are in great shape.

• Inside, the cabin is fully trimmed in black leather.

• The car will be accompanied by all of its original handbooks, as well as documentation of its comprehensive service history from new.

• The appropriate cherished registration ‘C16 ANV’ (C16 being the UK-market Porsche code) is included.

CONDITION

• No known prior body damage.

• The GT Silver paintwork is in excellent overall condition, and the front bumper has previously been resprayed, most likely to correct some minor defects such as stone chips.

• Inside, the seats, dashboard and upper door cards are trimmed in black leather, and present very well indeed. As is to be expected given the car’s age and mileage, there is some general creasing on the seat’s upholstery and a few small marks/indentations on the dashboard and door cards.

• The height adjuster for the driver’s seat does not function, but otherwise there are no known electrical or mechanical faults with the vehicle.

• The last MOT test was conducted on 2 June 2021 at 68,839 miles, resulting in a clean, first-time pass.

SERVICE HISTORY

• This 911’s most recent routine maintenance was a major service, which was carried out in September 2020 at 67,416 miles by Oakwell Garages.

• The vendor also had the front suspension components refurbished, as well as replacing the brake fluid and pads in January 2021 by Jasmine PorschaLink UK.

• Prior to this, Oakwell Garages performed a minor service in September 2019 at 65,923 miles, and a major service in September 2018 at 65,813 miles.
