KEY FACTS

• A very good example of the track-focused, lightweight 996-era 911, with low mileage and just two owners from new.
• It is powered by the 375bhp 3.6-litre naturally aspirated flat-six ‘Mezger’ engine, coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox.
• It has been under a SORN since 2015, though it benefits from a solid maintenance history, comprising a raft of main dealer and specialist services. 
• It is thought to be one of only 682 examples of the 996 GT3 RS, and one of only 113 delivered to the UK market.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Based on the 996.2 GT3, the GT3 RS features stiffer shock absorbers and progressive springs, a carbon-fibre bonnet and rear wing, a polycarbonate rear window and the lightweight bucket seats, half roll cage and harnesses from the Clubsport package.
• This example is also now equipped with Alcon front discs, Pagid pads, an air conditioning system and a tracker.
• The original stereo head unit has been replaced with a Porsche CDR-22 item. The original CDR-23 unit is inoperative, but is included in the sale.
• Its original owner’s manuals, service book and spare key will be included, along with various tax discs and the original bill of sale.

CONDITION

• While this car has been enjoyed on track as intended, there is no known bodywork damage, with the vendor noting that the underside and wheel arches have both benefited from two coatings of Roberlo Hidtrotex stone chip protection, two coats of Carrera White paint and two coats of Dinatrol corrosion protection.
• The underside of the front bumper has been resprayed to rectify some light stone chips, and the car now presents superbly for its age.
• Inside, some small marks can be seen on the Recaro racing seats and centre console plastics, but there is no major wear or damage. The car still looks superb for its age.
• All of the switchgear controls work as they should.
• The most recent MOT test was on 23 August 2021 at 42,663 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories whatsoever.

SERVICE HISTORY

• Its most recent service was in May 2021 at 42,648 miles, where technicians at Peregrine Tuning changed the engine oil, filter, brake fluid and gearbox oil, also replacing an exhaust gasket and both back boxes.
• Prior to this, similar routine servicing was performed in 2014 and 2015.

SUMMARY

This Porsche 996 GT3 RS is a coveted track-focused 911, with an absorbing driving experience on both the street and the circuit. As one of only 113 UK cars, it is a very collectible limited-run ‘Rennsport’ model, and would make a discerning addition to any assembly of the marque’s ‘greatest hits’ as well as a truly thrilling weekend toy.
