2001 PORSCHE 911 (996) TURBO

This 2001 Porsche 911 (996) Turbo is a smart example of the coveted millennium-era supercar, presented with a demure Seal Grey finish and in excellent condition throughout. It is equipped with the 3.6-litre twin-turbocharged ‘Mezger’ flat-six engine producing 414bhp, which sends power to all four wheels via a five-speed Tiptronic transmission. The odometer currently indicates 109,723 miles from new.

First registered in March 2001, this example was with its last owner for around a year. They used it regularly as a daily driver, keeping it in good running order, and carrying out several remedial tasks in addition to a major service with a main dealer.

The current private owner acquired it just two weeks ago in part exchange against a 1970s Aston Martin, in order to conclude that deal swiftly. It is now offered for sale to another enthusiast to enjoy.

This 911’s bodywork presents with flush shut lines and smooth panels, while the condition of its Seal Grey finish has been described as excellent. The front end has benefited from a PPF application, though some light stone chips can be seen underneath. Similar minor wear can be seen on the rear bumper, nearside door mirror and nearside wings. The vehicle rides on a set of refurbished 18-inch ‘Turbo Twist’ alloy wheels, which are in superb condition.

Inside, the black leather trim is described as being in excellent condition for its age, presenting with some surface creasing, but no heavy wear or damage. There are one or two light marks in the leather-clad door cards, though their carpeted lower panels present very well. Some scratches are also present on the central divider, but these are only noticeable under close inspection. The cabin is equipped with satellite navigation, climate control, cruise control, and a working phone. All of the switchgear is in good order, and no electrical issues have been detected.

The last maintenance was undertaken in December 2020 at 105,866 miles, where technicians at Porsche specialist Autofarm replaced the turbo diverter valves and nearside front brake pad wear sensor. Prior to this, in October 2020, The Ramp Room in Cwmbran changed the intercooler pipe. In July 2020 at 101,824 miles, Porsche Centre Cardiff carried out a major service, changing the engine oil and filter, along with the transmission oil, gasket, wiper blades and dust bellows – plus replacement of the front drive shaft boots.

In April 2017 at 98,865 miles, technicians at 911 Cars replaced the battery, turbo actuators, front radiators, anti-roll bar bushes, drop links, front top mounts and front strut bump stops. Routine maintenance was also carried out in May 2016 at 94,266 miles, with a minor service at Porsche specialist GT One Ltd.

The most recent MOT test was on 15 December 2020 at 105,866 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. The Michelin tyres are date-coded between 2018 and 2020, and have between 4.0mm and 6.5mm of tread remaining, with the rear tyres also having received puncture repairs at Autofarm in December 2020.

Accompanying the vehicle are the original owner’s handbook and stamped service booklet, along with two keys and maintenance invoices.
