KEY FACTS

• A fantastic example of the rare and iconic ‘widowmaker’ 911, which has been made all the more formidable by its Sportec tuning kit, which boosts its power output by more than 110bhp.
• Under the engine lid is the 3.6-litre ‘Mezger’ twin-turbocharged flat-six, which has been tuned to produce 572bhp, and drives the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
• In total, only 1,287 996 GT2s were built, and this early production example was first registered in August 2001.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Effectively a rear-wheel-drive 996 Turbo riding on GT3 suspension, the GT2 is not equipped with traction control or any other electronic driver aids, hence its fearsome reputation.
• Cosmetic changes from the rest of the 996 range include a deeper front bumper and lip spoiler and a substantial rear wing.
• Beneath the skin, its chassis features rose-jointed support bearings, and both the ride height and camber can be adjusted.
• This example is finished in the ever-popular colour combination of Arctic Silver Metallic over a black leather interior.
• Upgraded by Porsche tuning specialist Sportec, this GT2 is fitted with larger turbochargers, uprated intercoolers and a tuned ECU, increasing its power output from an already impressive 456bhp to a searing 572bhp.
• Furthermore, heavily bolstered 996 GT3 bucket seats help to keep the driver and passenger in place, while a genuine Porsche Tequipment roll bar is fitted in the rear of the car for added safety and enhanced rigidity.
• It rides on a set of 19-inch Cargraphic three-piece ‘Racing’ alloy wheels, which feature polished rims and gold centres, and are pristine.
• This GT2 will be accompanied by its original stamped service book, a number of invoices detailing its past maintenance and its original alloy wheels.

CONDITION

• No known bodywork damage.
• The Arctic Silver Metallic paintwork is thought to be entirely original and is in great shape, with only a few stone chips on the front bumper, commensurate with the car’s age and mileage.
• Inside, the upholstery and interior trim are in excellent condition, and while there are creases on the leather-clad seats and minor nicks on the handbrake grip and gear knob, these do not detract from the cabin’s impressive overall appearance.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical faults with the vehicle, and there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard.

SERVICE HISTORY

• This GT2’s most recent routine maintenance was an oil and filter change, which was carried out in February 2021 by main dealer Porsche Musepach.
• Prior to this, oil and filter changes were performed in 2018 and 2016.
