2001 PORSCHE 911 (996) CARRERA CSR

KEY FACTS

  • A well-maintained example of RPM Technik’s retro take on the 996 Carrera, which was upgraded through their CSR programme (build number CSR-020) in 2017 at a cost in excess of £20,000.
  • The appropriate registration ‘Y20 CSR’ is included in the sale.
  • It is powered by a modified version of the 3.4-litre engine, producing 296bhp and 258lb-ft of torque, coupled to an automatic transmission with AMG paddle shift conversion, and a Wavetrac Torsen limited-slip differential.
  • The car benefits from a comprehensive service history made up of Official Porsche Centres and specialist garages.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • As part of the CSR conversion, RPM Technik has modified the 3.4-litre engine with an upgraded intermediate shaft bearing, low temp thermostat, third radiator kit and added a deep sump extension.
  • The car rides on three-way adjustable KW coilover suspension with new top mounts, drop links, Powerflex bushes and hollow Eibach anti-roll bars.
  • GT3 side skirts and front bumper have been installed, along with a painted carbon-fibre ducktail spoiler, bespoke stainless steel exhaust and Fuchs alloy wheels.
  • The seats have been re-trimmed in Scottish Tartan with black leather bolsters, plus the steering wheel and handbrake in Alcantara. Signature CSR carbon door sill inserts complete the interior upgrades.
  • Its original owner’s manuals, satellite navigation discs and toolkit will be included, along with the original spare wheel/tyre and a large history folder.

CONDITION

  • No known bodywork damage.
  • Its special Schwarz Metallic paintwork is in excellent condition, with the vendor noting that the front bumper and bonnet have been resprayed.
  • A few small stone chips can be seen on the front bumper/bonnet, wings and door panels.
  • The wheels have recently been refurbished with polished lips, while the brake callipers have been powder coated and rebranded.
  • Inside, its re-trimmed Scottish Tartan upholstery is in very good shape and the leather bolsters feature just a few light creases. One small mark can be seen on the rear of the driver’s seat.
  • No electrical faults have been detected.
  • The most recent MOT test was on 28 April 2021 at 105,119 miles, which was a first-time pass with no advisories or defects.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • Its last routine maintenance was in March 2019 at 100,618 miles, where technicians at APR Garage Services performed a major service, including replacing the spark plugs.
  • Following a pre-sale listing check, the driver’s window regulator was replaced, the air-conditioning was re-gassed and new Michelin Pilot Sport tyres were fitted all round.
