KEY FACTS

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Originally finished in Seal Grey over black leather, this car now has black decals applied to the paintwork, and has had a partial re-trim of the front and rear seats.
• The wing mirror casings and B-pillar trims have been refinished with genuine carbon.
• It left the factory on 18-inch SportDesign wheels, but now rides on genuine GT3 rims.
• The engine and suspension remain in completely original condition, delivering the classic 911 driving experience.
• Other factory options include the electric sport seats, sunroof, and extended leather trim.
• Aftermarket items in the cabin include OEM carbon-fibre inlays, new upholstery for the seat centre panels in ‘Pepita’ houndstooth fabric, a three-spoke RUF steering wheel, and Panasonic MP3-compatible CD player head unit.
• The ‘RUF’ inspired registration also comes with the vehicle, and has been valued at around £1,500.
• Included with the vehicle is an extensive service history, full Porsche tool kit and the spare wheel in the front luggage compartment.

CONDITION

• There is no damage to the bodywork.
• The Seal Grey paintwork is believed to be largely original, and presents in excellent condition overall with light stone chips commensurate with the car’s age and mileage.
• There is a light chip in the windscreen, and a minor mark on the offside rear wing just behind the wheel.
• All wheel arches have been cleaned and detailed, and the car is stored in a dry garage, protected by a silk type cover from RUF UK.
• Inside, the seats have been re-trimmed with houndstooth centre panels, and they are in superb order, with the upholstery looking nearly new.
• The vendor notes that the self-cancelling indicator function is not currently working, and the height adjustment on the driver’s seat is also broken; however a new bracket is present with the car.
• The most recent MOT test took place on 27 May 2021, resulting in a first-time pass with an advisory for a minor oil leak. This has since been remedied by the fitment of a new rear main oil seal (RMS) gasket.
• The wheels are currently fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres for enhanced handling, though the car has not been tracked. The original wheels, available by separate negotiation, are fitted with Pirelli tyres.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The latest service was carried out at 39,000 miles by Mortimer Porsche. This work consisted of a standard oil and filter change using Mobil 1, along with a brake fluid change, auxiliary belt change and a general inspection of the vehicle.
• Alongside the service work, the car has received a new clutch and IMS bearing, RMS gasket, new clutch, suspension work, remedial work to the wheel arches, and a gearbox / differential oil check.
• Prior to this, the car had received both major and minor services by Porsche Centre Sussex.

SUMMARY

With low mileage, a strong factory specification and several cosmetic upgrades inside and out, this is a unique example of the Porsche 996 Carrera, and presents in generally excellent condition. For those looking for an analogue sports car experience with plenty of comfort and practicality, this 911 would be an excellent weekend car that could also be daily driven, should the next owner so desire.
