2000 PORSCHE (986) BOXSTER S

This 2000 Porsche Boxster S is a tidy example of Porsche’s classic mid-engined sports car, benefiting from some sympathetic modifications to enhance the driving experience. It is powered by the 3.2-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 180,592 km from new.

The car was first registered on 3 January 2000, and originally a UK-market car, this Boxster S was exported to Australia in 2005, and has been with the current owner for the past seven years. During this time it has been well­-cared for and received some upgrades to augment its performance. This includes adjustable coilover suspension, a stainless steel sports exhaust and Fabspeed Sport Headers, performance DBA X Gold rotors, and performance pads.

Its bodywork and paint are believed to be all original and in good condition. The owner notes that the panels have never been damaged and the paint presents well. Minor stone chipping and scratching is evident, commensurate with the age and mileage of the car. The convertible roof is nearly new, having been replaced 18 months ago.

The leather upholstery, dashboard, controls and other trim is in good shape. The seat covers have a light patina from use, with some more noticeable wear on the outer bolster of the driver’s seat. All of the switchgear, electronics and gauges work well and there are no warning lights.

A minor service was carried out in March, 2021, at 180,000 km by Euro Automotive, including renewal of the brake fluid, and the car has been given regular services throughout its life. The water pump has also been serviced during the current ownership, and its uprated coilover suspension and sports exhaust system are relatively recent upgrades.

Its original stamped maintenance log will be included with the car along with the original books and other literature. The car sits on Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres with less than 1,000 km of use on them.

Porsche’s Boxster S has built an enviable reputation as a driver’s car, but also one that represents a great value modern performance hero. Conscientiously maintained and discreetly modified to complement its inherent character, this Boxster S would make a great weekend toy or road trip companion.
