1998 BMW ALPINA (E39) B10 V8 TOURING

KEY FACTS

EQUIPMENT AND OPTIONS

• Finished in Biarritz Blue over a Sand Beige leather interior, accented by burl wood trim.

• Recently fitted with an OEM-style Dynavin infotainment system, with Apple CarPlay and DAB radio.
• While the HPI record indicates the car was previously and briefly registered overseas, this is very common for Alpina builds, which were often collected at the factory.
• The car will be accompanied by its original invoice and full tool kit, as well as complete documentation of its service history.

CONDITION

• The sills, doors and roof have previously been repaired to remove corrosion.
• Resprayed in various places when the bodywork was repaired, the paintwork is in good overall condition. A £400 interior and exterior detail has just been completed, which noted stone chips and a small scrape on the front bumper, two small areas of bubbling on both front wings, some corrosion on the inner wheel arch surfaces, and a scrape on the underside of the rear bumper.
• The ‘Alpina’ lettering on the front valance has been painted on, as a more durable alternative to the original decals.
• Alpina ‘Styling II’ alloy wheels have been fully refurbished in the last six months.
• Inside, the cabin is in excellent order for its age with some age-related marks, including expected creasing and wear on the seat bolsters. A number of the trim pieces have been replaced, but there remain minor scratches on the centre console, and the passenger-side tweeter’s mesh grille has been depressed.
• The boot trim creaks slightly, believed to be related to its age as no discernible damage has been identified following inspection.
• A brake light warning is intermittently displayed; however, a specialist has checked all three brake lights and confirmed that they are in good warning order.
• There is a faint knock from the steering rack, which the seller and marque specialist Birds have been unable to identify following detailed inspection work. Both steering and suspension systems having been confirmed as showing no signs of excess wear or damage. Details are available in the submitted invoices and email correspondence in the history file.
• This Alpina’s most recent MOT test was conducted on 28 April 2021 at 104,696 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with one advisory for a slight mist of oil on the differential.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The car’s last service was carried out in October 2020 at 103,940 miles by BMW specialist CPC Performance Engineering. An ‘Inspection II’ service, this included an engine oil, oil filter, air filter and pollen filter change, as well as replacement of the spark plugs and brake fluid.
• The front dampers were also replaced, along with the rear link arm and rear lower wishbone ball joint.
• Extensive recommissioning work was carried out in October 2018 at 100,541 miles by JJ Performance Engineering. This included bead blasting and power coating of the suspension components and replacement of the brake pipes and discs.
