KEY FACTS

• A low-mileage example of the acclaimed 993 air-cooled sports car in sought-after Carrera 2S ‘widebody’ specification, with very good service history (16 stamps from main dealers and independent specialists).
• Power comes from the rear-mounted, naturally aspirated ‘VarioRam’ 3.6-litre flat-six, which sends circa 282bhp to the rear wheels via the six-speed manual transmission.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Introduced in 1996, the 993-generation Carrera 2S features the imposing wide-arched bodyshell previously reserved for the 911 Turbo, along with its revised front bumper and lower suspension, and is a relatively rare model with low production numbers.
• This attractive example – as shown in the photos – is finished in the timeless hue of Arctic Silver over a grey leather interior.
• Optional equipment includes air-conditioning, an electric sunroof and electrically adjustable sport seats.
• A deviation from factory specification is the car’s modern Sony radio/CD player, which also features Bluetooth connectivity.
• The car will be accompanied by its handbooks and stamped service book (16 stamps), contained in their document wallet. The history file includes many invoices relating to services carried out.
• Its V5C shows eight former registered keepers.

CONDITION

• While it is not known whether the Arctic Silver paintwork has been resprayed in the past, it presents very well and attractively, as shown in the gallery below.
• It rides on the correct set of 18-inch ‘Turbo Twist’ alloy wheels, which appear to be in great shape, with no noticeable scuffs or scratches.
• Inside, the cabin is in impressive condition given the car’s age, with some general creasing, patina, minor wear on the seats’ upholstery, and some discolouration – but no rips in the material or heavy wear.
• While the seller is unable to drive the car due to a medical condition and diagnosis, he is not aware of any electrical faults with the vehicle, there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard, and the engine starts as it should and sounds lovely.
• The car is currently under a valid SORN and the sale price will include trailered UK delivery to the new owner. Also included are two indoor car covers and a CTEK battery trickle charger.
• This Porsche’s last MOT test was conducted on 12 March 2021 at 46,867 miles (2 miles ago). This resulted in a pass after an emissions issue was tended to, with advisories being issued for slight play in both of the rear suspension rod ball joints and the fitment of factory undertrays. The tyre tread depth is very good.
