1995 PORSCHE 911 (993) CARRERA 4

KEY FACTS

  • A smart example of the last of the hand-built and air-cooled 911s, presented with an eye-catching Porsche Exclusive interior.
  • Under the engine lid is the naturally aspirated 3.6-litre flat-six, delivering 272bhp to all four wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
  • The odometer fitted reads 22,023 miles, however the owner has used this speedometer unit when in the UK, swapping to a kilometre-readout gauge when on the continent (which reads 108,412km), making the car’s total mileage around 89,200 miles.
  • A left-hand drive German-market car, it was re-registered in the UK in May 1999, but was then mostly used on the continent in France for the next 14 years, where it was kept in a dry garage.
  • It has been with its current owner for the last 22 years, and kept in storage for the last three.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • This Carrera 4 is finished in the handsome hue of Midnight Blue Metallic, with striking Flamenco Red extended leather upholstery.
  • The original factory specification includes electrically adjustable sports seats, an electrically operated sunroof and rear spoiler, air conditioning, a rear wiper, cruise control, and a trip computer. The stereo head unit has been replaced with a more modern item, but the original unit is included should the next owner wish to have it refurbished in the future.
  • The Porsche Exclusive extended leather package adds Flamenco Red hide to most of the cabin; most notably across the top and bottom of the dashboard, the transmission tunnel, the steering wheel and airbag cover, the rear quarter panels and the headlining, as well as the gear knob, the handbrake grip and the instrument dial rings.
  • No modifications have been made to the vehicle, save for its stainless-steel exhaust tips, new stereo, and replacement Bilstein suspension dampers.
  • The car is accompanied by its owner’s manual and service book, alongside extensive documentation which includes MOT certificates, import and export paperwork, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, service and purchase invoices, DVLA history and correspondence with Porsche. The original Nokia car phone and bracket is also available.

CONDITION

  • There is no reported bodywork damage, and while the seller notes that there were previously some small dents around the vehicle, these have since been removed.
  • The Midnight Blue Metallic paintwork is in very good condition following a respray by a Porsche agent in 1999. Imperfections include some stone chips to the front end of the car and the door mirror covers, a small scratch on the driver’s door, and slight hazing ahead of the rear wheel arches where the factory-fitted paint protection film has degraded with age.
  • The alloy wheels present well, with no obvious blemishes or kerbing damage.
  • Moving inside, the Flamenco Red leather interior is in good order, with a light ‘patina’ on the seats and only slight wear on the steering wheel rim, gear knob and handbrake grip.
  • There are no known electrical faults.
  • Its last MOT test was conducted on 17 August 2021 at 21,977 miles, which the car passed following some attention to the windscreen wipers and washers. Advisories noted an oil leak, as well as the presence of factory-fitted under-trays.

SERVICE HISTORY

  • The car is fresh from its most recent service, which was performed by Porsche Centre Reading in August 2021 at an indicated 21,977 miles (89,173 miles). This included replacement of the power steering reservoir, fuel pump and relay.
  • Additional work was then carried out by Sandydown Bodyworks, who replaced the brake discs and fuel sender.
  • Prior to this, the car was serviced in February 2017 by Porsche specialist Keylink, and in December 2013 by Independent Garage Service.
  • Throughout their 22-year ownership, the owner has swapped between using the original kilometre-readout speedometer (now showing 108,412 kilometres, or 67,196 miles) and a miles-per-hour unit supplied by Porsche in 1999 to match the leather-trimmed interior. Both odometers are supplied with the vehicle, and the total mileage from new is approximately 89,200 miles.
