1995 PORSCHE 911 (993) CARRERA 2

This 1995 Porsche 993 Carrera 2 is a very well cared-for example of the final air-cooled 911 model. Equipped with its original 3.6-litre flat-six engine, the car also has the desirable six-speed manual transmission. It is finished in the handsome colour combination of Midnight Blue over a Marble Grey leather interior, and the odometer shows 101,000 miles from new.

An original right-hand drive C16-code example, the car was completed at the Zuffenhausen factory in early 1995 and was first registered in the UK in April that year. It was supplied new through AFN Porsche in London, where it also had the first two main dealer services. The car has had just three owners from new, with the last keeper having it for 15 years.

Its Midnight Blue paintwork is in very good shape, having recently benefited from a £2,500 spend on glass-out respraying to rectify minor corrosion and smaller body marks. There are before and after photos available from the vendor for anyone who wishes to review the work in more detail. All of the seals and exterior trim elements are in fine order as you would expect. It sits on a set of 17-inch ‘Cup 2’ silver alloy wheels, which have been refurbished and are in superb condition.

In the cabin, the Marble Grey upholstery is in remarkable condition, with few signs of wear. The leather on the front seats, gear stick and steering wheel has been fully re-connolised, which helps to explain the outstanding appearance, and it is complemented by a Midnight Blue dashboard. It retains the original grey carpeting throughout. The factory-fitted equipment includes air-conditioning, rear wiper, sunroof and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The car is in impressive mechanical condition, benefitting from regular maintenance throughout its life by all three owners, as well as a significant spend of £9,500 in the last two years to ensure any minor items were attended to. Over the last 20 years, this Porsche has been maintained exclusively by independent specialists No 5 Garage and Tower Porsche in London. The detailed stamped service history is accompanied by no fewer than 33 invoices for work and a raft of old MOT certificates.

Within the last five years, a wide range of work has been carried out. In 2014, the fan belt, alternator belt and air-conditioning condenser belt were all renewed. The induction system was also thoroughly cleaned out, along with a replacement distributor and rotor arms. In 2015, a fresh set of N-rated Continental tyres was fitted, along with renewed rear brake discs and pads. The front shock absorbers and top mounts were replaced in 2017.

In early 2018, the cam cover gaskets were renewed, along with the front brake discs and pads, anti-roll bar drop links and dust boots. In November 2018, the car was given a full service, replacing the air filter, fuel filter, cabin filters and spark plugs. Its air-conditioning system was also serviced, and the car has since traveled just 238 miles. In January 2019, the clutch fluid, transmission fluid and brake fluid were all renewed. The geometry was also re-calibrated and adjusted.

The car is covered by an advisory-free MOT certificate until November 2019. It is fitted with a matching set of N2-rated Continental SportContact 2 tyres in size 205/50 R17 at the front and 225/40 R17 at the rear.

As well as extensive history file, the car is accompanied by four original keys, two alarm fobs, two immobiliser fobs, and the original codes for the alarm and radio. This Porsche 993 Carrera 2 is a terrific example of the model, maintained fastidiously to ensure that it still impresses cosmetically and drives superbly.
