EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• All 540i Limited Editions feature a six-speed manual transmission. They borrow other features from the M5, including BMW’s Electronic Damper Control, other suspension components, and the upgraded interior.
• A clutch and flywheel from an E39 M5 has been fitted to the car along with a short-shift kit from a later Z3, and E34 M5 (3.6) front brake calipers and discs.
• The BMW also features an aftermarket Kenwood Bluetooth head unit.
• A closed-door exterior respray was completed in 2018 by Creative Custom Cars and the headlining was also replaced in July 2021, including pillars and sunroof trim.
• The original shifter is available, as is an original head unit without a code.
• It is sold with a full set of original books as well as an original sales brochure, tool kit and various receipts from new.

CONDITION

• The car was repaired and resprayed after it was scratched in the driveway. The bodywork is in good condition and the car presents very well, with wheels, grille, side skirts and other exterior trim in good condition. A few minor car park dents are visible upon close inspection.
• Benefitting from the respray completed in 2018, the car’s Oxford Green Metallic paintwork is in generally excellent condition. There are some minor stone chips in the more vulnerable areas like the bumper and side skirts.
• Its upholstery is believed to be original outside of the headlining, pillars and sunroof trim, and has been well preserved. Some wear can be found on the right-hand side of the driver’s seat bolster and in the shift knob leather. There is also some minor wear on the driver’s side door inside edge and some sag in the glove box door fit.
• Reported to be in sound mechanical condition, there are also no known electrical faults.
• The most recent inspection was carried out for a Victorian roadworthy certificate in July 2021 and the car passed without issue.

SERVICE HISTORY

• Southern BM serviced the car most recently at 202,266 km on in July 2021. Work included a full Inspection 2 and annual service, replacing the centre bearing, heater inline pump and rear brake hoses. The rear EDC loom was repaired and the headliner replaced.
• Prior to that, in March 2019 at 197,294 km, a routine oil service was carried out. At the same time the brake accumulator, castor bar bushes, and the right-hand tie rod were also replaced.
• Four new EDC shocks were installed at 155,000 km and the EDC system is working as designed.
• Other work completed since 2016 includes an overhaul of the steering box, a new clutch and flywheel from an E39 M5, including rear main seal, gearbox seal and spigot bearing; replacement of the rear window regulators and motors, replacement brake master cylinder, and fitment of a new windscreen and clear indicator lens kit. Four Bridgestone Potenza RE003 tyres in size 235/45 ZR17 have also been fitted.
