1995 BMW (E34) 525i SE

This BMW 525i is a presentable and well-maintained example of the E34-generation executive saloon. Under the bonnet is a 189bhp 2.5-litre straight-six engine, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The odometer reads 88,365 miles from new.

An original UK-market example, this E34 was initially registered on 13 June 1996. It has been owned by the vendor for nearly a year, and has just four previous keepers.

Finished in Sorrento Blue metallic, the E34’s taut lines remain in good order and are believed to be free of any prior damage. The paintwork on the roof and boot lid is known to have been resprayed, though there is no paperwork for the work on file. Some stone chips are noted on the front bumper and bonnet, while a mark is visible on the roof above the rear passenger door. The plastic door trim rub strips also show signs of wear commensurate with the car’s age. It rides on 15-inch OEM BBS alloy wheels.

Inside, the E34’s driver-centric cabin remains in highly original and presentable condition. Signs of wear are visible on both front seats, as well as the ends of the arm rests. The vendor adds that the parcel shelf has previously been reupholstered and has lifted in places, while the rear seats present exceptionally well. The car has an electric sunroof, electric windows and mirrors, as well as central locking. An aftermarket Sony stereo has been fitted to boost sound quality. No warning lights are illuminated on the dashboard, and everything remains in working order.

The most recent service was carried out on 11 September 2020 at 84,167 miles by Auto Classics. This was a minor service as per the manufacturer schedule, with the offside rear window regulator also replaced along with the relevant oil and filters. Prior to this, a major service was carried out on 1 June 2018 at 76,000 miles, while a minor service was undertaken on 1 August 2017 at 74,000 miles. During the vendor’s ownership, the front brake discs have also been replaced along with the vapour barriers in all four doors.

The most recent MOT test was on 11 September 2020 at 84,167 miles. This was a first-time pass, with an advisory for corrosion on the brake lines, which was addressed by wire brushing away the rust and painting them with anti-corrosion protection.
