EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Only offered in the UK, the 968 Sport was based on the lightweight, track-focused Club Sport model, but had a number of creature comforts added back in.
• As a result, 968 Sport models such as this example feature the Club Sport’s chassis upgrades, but are equipped with electric windows and door mirrors, a removable sunroof and rear seats.
• This 968 is finished in the appealing hue of Iris Blue with black interior upholstery.
• Externally, the car has been given a more purposeful look courtesy of its Turbo rear spoiler and front splitter.
• It rides on a set of 18-inch RUF alloy wheels, which are finished in dark metallic grey with polished rims.
• Inside, the car is fitted with a pair of Recaro bucket seats and blue TRS racing harnesses.
• This 968’s performance and handling have also been enhanced with the addition of a Janspeed stainless-steel exhaust system, an aftermarket air filter, Koni adjustable shock absorbers and larger ‘M030’ front brakes, which are cooled via a pair of ducts fitted in the front bumper.
• The car will be accompanied by all of its original handbooks, as well as its stamped service book. The original seat belts and air filter will also be included in the sale as parts.

CONDITION

• No known body damage.
• The Iris Blue paintwork is in excellent overall condition, having been fully resprayed in 2019.
• Inside, the cabin is very smart, with no visible blemishes on the aftermarket Recaro bucket seats, and only very minor wear on the touchpoints including the leather-wrapped gear knob, in line with the car’s age and mileage.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical faults, and there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard.
• The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 3 September 2020 at 63,128 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with no warnings or advisories.

SERVICE HISTORY

• This 968 Sport’s engine oil and oil filter have been changed on an annual basis over the last 14 years.
• Its most recent major service was carried out in June 2015 at 61,275 miles by Blaze Motorsport. This included replacement of the cam belt, as well as the belts for the balance shaft, alternator and power steering, plus a new distributor cap and rotor arm, and renewal of the front and rear brake discs and pads.

SUMMARY

This Porsche 968 Sport is a fine example of the accessible front-engine transaxle performance car. Although the ‘Sport’ is a more luxurious version of the hard-edged Club Sport model, this particular example has been lightly modified to offer improved performance and on-track safety, and will capably fulfill the roles of both weekend driver and track day toy.
