KEY FACTS
- A very smart, low-mileage example of the rare lightweight sports car, presented in impressive overall condition and with only two former keepers from new.
- Under the bonnet is the all-aluminium naturally aspirated 3.0-litre inline-four, which produces 237bhp and drives the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
- The car was first registered in September 1993, and is now offered for sale on behalf of its current owner, who acquired it 22 years ago.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
- This 968 is finished in the timeless hue of Grand Prix White over a black interior, which features the desirable hard-shell Recaro bucket seats with body coloured backs.
- As a driver-focused Club Sport model, this example does not feature rear seats, air conditioning or electric windows.
- Its specification includes the limited-slip differential and the M030 ‘Sport Chassis’ option, comprising uprated Koni dampers and stiffer springs. There are also improved anti-roll bars, larger front brake callipers and upgraded front and rear brake discs.
- However, the car is not without a few comforts, having been specified with an electric sunroof and a radio/cassette player, which has since been replaced with a more modern Alpine CD player.
- This 968 will be accompanied by its full original book pack including its stamped service book, as well as its full tool roll, space-saver spare wheel, seat base cushions, luggage net and extending rear parcel shelf.
CONDITION
- No known bodywork damage.
- The Grand Prix White paintwork is believed to be original, and is in very good condition given the car’s age, with a few stone chips on the front bumper and the leading edge of the bonnet.
- The exterior trim also presents well, and while protective film has been applied behind the front wheel arches and is now aged, this should be relatively straightforward for the buyer to remove/replace should they wish.
- Furthermore, the 17-inch colour-coded ‘Cup’ alloy wheels are very smart, and are free of any substantial scratches or scuffs.
- Inside, the cabin is in great shape, with no visible damage or significant wear to the seats’ Nomex fabric covering, and only the slightest patch of discolouration on the passenger door card.
- There are no known electrical or mechanical faults, and there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard.
- The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 18 June 2021 at 58,254 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with one advisory for wear on the nearside front tyre.
SERVICE HISTORY
- This 968 Club Sport’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out in June 2020 at 58,165 miles by marque specialist Northway Porsche, who inspected the cambelt, as well as supplying and fitting a new radiator fan switch, refitting the starter motor and lubricating the starter nose bearing.
- Prior to this, in April 2018 at 57,608 miles, Northway Porsche performed a major service, including replacement of the cambelt and tensioner, as well as the balance shaft, alternator and power steering belts. Furthermore, the engine oil and filter were changed, along with the engine coolant and brake fluid.
