1993 PORSCHE 911 (964) TURBO 3.6 - 40,057 KM

This Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 is a very low-mileage example of a rare 911, which benefits from recent cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment. Under the engine lid is the turbocharged 3.6-litre flat-six, which produces up to 360bhp and 384lb-ft of torque. This drives the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission, allowing this modern classic to sprint from 0-62mph in less than five seconds. The odometer displays just 40,057 km (24,890 miles) from new.

A 1994 model year car, built in September 1993, this UK-specification C16 911 Turbo is understood to have been supplied new to the royal family of Brunei via Porsche Reading. It later passed through several other private owners in Brunei, which appear to have included the country’s ambassador to Kuwait. In recent years, it was exported to the UK and re-registered with the DVLA in August 2017. Since then, it has been brought up to an impressive mechanical and cosmetic standard at a cost of approximately £24,000.

Today, the car’s bodywork presents very well, with no evidence of any prior accident damage. Believed to have been either partly or fully resprayed in the past, its Black Metallic paintwork is described by the vendor as being in excellent condition, with only a few minor marks to its surface including small stone chips on the front bumper, the bonnet and in front of the rear wheel arches. The windscreen is new, having recently been replaced under insurance. Its light lenses and rear reflector panel are free of any cracks or other damage. This Turbo rides on a correct set of 18-inch split-rim Speedline alloy wheels, which have recently been refurbished and are in great shape.

Moving inside, the cabin is upholstered in black leather and shows few signs of wear. Both of the front sport seats feature perforated centre sections, and are in impressive condition, having been retrimmed by Porsche Heritage. The main touchpoints, including the black leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob are also very smart, and the door cards present well. This 911 Turbo is equipped with a factory-fitted electric sunroof, which was repaired in August 2019 and now works as it should, and all of the other buttons, switches and electrical items function without fault.

Since it was imported into the UK, this 964’s mechanical components have been extensively overhauled, and it is now in very good condition. In August 2019 at 38,125 km, MB-Nottingham repaired the sunroof as mentioned above, and corrected an issue with the air-conditioning system. In June 2018, Porsche specialist Cavendish carried out various repairs and maintenance, including replacement of the primary and secondary fuel pumps, the turbo boost pressure sensor, and the front wishbones, as well as removal and repair of the gearbox, which was leaking oil. Prior to this, a routine service was carried out in August 2017 at 36,094km by Porsche Centre Leicester, when the engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs and fan belts were replaced.

The car’s latest MOT test was conducted on 8 March 2021 at 40,036 km, resulting in a first-time pass with no advisories whatsoever. The seller states that all four tyres are in good condition, and have at least 4mm of usable tread remaining.

This 911 Turbo will be accompanied by its full original book pack, a comprehensive selection of invoices for past maintenance, copies of previous registration paperwork from Brunei, and a tool kit.

The 3.6-litre, 964-generation Porsche 911 Turbo is a very rare and sought-after supercar from the marque’s enviable back catalogue. Presented in fantastic condition, this low-mileage example would be a discerning addition to any collection.
