1991 PORSCHE 911 (964) CARRERA RS CLUBSPORT (N/GT)

KEY FACTS

• One of 290 Clubsport racing versions of the 964 Carrera RS.
• It is powered by the RS 260bhp 3.6-litre ‘M64/03’ air-cooled flat-six, which drives the rear wheels via the close-ratio ‘G50/10’ five-speed manual transmission.
• This example has racing provenance, though has remained in the garage for the last few years.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• While 2,282 examples of the 964 Carrera RS were produced in total, just 290 of these were built in ‘Clubsport’ specification to FIA Group N regulations and for GT racing - hence the alternative N/GT moniker.
• N/GT models with the M003 Clubsport package were stripped out further than standard RS cars, with no soundproofing, a full welded roll cage, racing harnesses, a long-range fuel tank, a plumbed-in fire extinguisher, an external cut-off and relocated digital motor electronics.
• The Clubsport cars also featured an aluminium boot lid, bucket seats for driver and passenger, thinner rear and side windows, and rear seat delete.
• This example was originally Guards Red, but was subject of a re-shell in the mid-1990s and is now finished in Rubystone with a livery wrap.
• It has been fitted with a HANS device compatible Recaro bucket seat, a three-spoke OMP steering wheel and 18-inch alloys in the style of the original Cup rims.
• The door cards have been swapped to carbon-fibre items, and the cabin has been stripped out even more extensively.
• Its DMBS racing pass will be included, along with correspondence from Porsche to confirm its status as a genuine 964 RS Clubsport, and a renovation book from 2016.

CONDITION

• Following a collision in 1994, it is understood that the car was subject of a body re-shell by Porsche. An official letter in the history file confirms that this car – which now holds identity TP947095003 – was formerly WP0ZZZ96ZNS499005.
• While the paint on the original body shell was Guards Red, the car now presents in Rubystone Red with a livery wrap; though racing photos also show the car was black around 2005-2010. The finish has a few light scratches under direct sunlight, but is generally in good order.
• A small piece of the left-side rubber door trim is missing, a few small scuffs can be seen around the exhaust, and there are some hairline cracks in the tail lights and rear reflector strip.
• Inside, the Recaro seat is in good order, and the rest of the limited interior trim also presents well. The roll cage has some chips in the paint.
• No electrical faults have been detected.

SUMMARY
