• Presented in good overall condition and fresh from an extensive service and inspection, this 964-generation Porsche 911 Carrera 4 is a usable example of the desirable air-cooled modern classic.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• This Carrera 4 is still finished in its factory colour scheme of Polar Silver over a black leather interior.
• Factory-fitted equipment includes an electric sunroof, a rear wiper and sport seats with electric height adjustment.
• It rides on the correct set of 16-inch ‘Design 90’ alloy wheels.
• The car is almost entirely standard and unmodified, save for the gold-finished ‘Carrera 4’ badge on its tail and its polished headlamp bezels, which have been fitted in place of the original, body-coloured items.
• The car will be accompanied by its original stamped Guarantee and Maintenance Service book, various invoices from 2001 onwards and its original tool set, contained in the correct leather bag.

CONDITION

• No known body damage, save for small dents on the rear right panel and the centre of the bonnet, though these could likely be removed by a skilled PDR technician.
• Believed to be the original finish, the Polar Silver paintwork is in good overall condition. However, as is to be expected given the car’s age and mileage, there are a few small blemishes around the vehicle, including flaking below the passenger-side headlight, a crack in the finish above the tail pipe and small stone chips on the front bumper and bonnet. There is also a small blemish in the paint just behind the passenger door.
• The wheels feature various marks, blemishes and patches of corrosion / bubbling, and would benefit from refurbishment in due course.
• Inside, the cabin is very smart, with some wear to the pedals and the driver’s floor mat in line with the car’s use, but no significant wear on the black leather-trimmed seats. The black finish is also flaking away on the gauge surrounds, but these could easily be replaced or repainted.
• Some of the plastic fixings in the front storage area are missing or damaged, but these are affordable and readily available.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical issues with the car, and there are no warning lights displayed on the dashboard.
• This modern classic 911’s last MOT test was conducted on 29 March 2021 at 129,404 miles, resulting in a first-time pass. An inoperative offside registration plate lamp was listed as a minor defect, while advisories were issued for a minor oil leak from the engine, minor wear to the front brake discs and wear on the edge of the offside front tyre.

SERVICE HISTORY

• This Carrera 4’s most recent routine maintenance was carried out in April 2021 at 129,409 miles by Porsche specialist Autofarm.
• At the owner’s request, the car was fully inspected and any worn or damaged components were replaced, including the engine drive belts, the flexible brake lines, the front track rods, the gearbox undertray and the hardline metal brake pipes.
• Furthermore, an oil and filter service was carried out, the engine was steam cleaned and a full geometry setup was performed, among other items – the total cost for this major overhaul coming in at £12,350.
• Prior to this, Autofarm performed a general oil and filter service in June 2019 at 127,678 miles, when the offside rear driveshaft was also replaced.

SUMMARY

This 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 is a sound, usable example of the ever-popular 964-generation sports car. Recently serviced by marque specialists Autofarm, this 911 is offered for sale in superb mechanical order, and while its next owner may wish to tend to some of its minor cosmetic flaws in due course, it is ready to drive and enjoy immediately.
