1991 PORSCHE 911 (964) CARRERA 2 CABRIOLET

This 1991 Porsche 911 (964) Carrera 2 is a characterful convertible sports car, which has been enjoyed as intended, but has benefited from a recent engine rebuild. It is equipped with a 3.6-litre air-cooled flat-six engine, coupled to the four-speed Tiptronic transmission. The odometer currently indicates 112,319 miles from new.

Finished in the smart colour combination of dark grey paintwork over a Linen leather interior, the car features a more contemporary Sony stereo and rides on ‘Cup 2’ alloy wheels. First registered in February 1991, this 964 has been with its current keeper for one year.

The bodywork of this 911 is in excellent condition, and the grey paint finish has just a few very light stone chips on the front end. The soft-top roof features light creases from storage, but appears to fit very well, while the rear window is free of any clouding. Its 17-inch ‘Cup II’ alloys have a few small kerb scratches, and the red paint on the brake callipers behind has started to flake in places.

Inside, the Linen upholstery wears its mileage well, with age-related creasing, but no visible rips or tears. The door cards are in good shape, though one or both of the electric window switches on the driver’s side are slightly loose. The dashboard and instrument dials are all in good order, and no electrical faults have been detected.

This 911 underwent a full engine rebuild in very late 2018, alongside the fitment of new rear light clusters, replacement front lower wishbones and a rear suspension toe arm plate, and various wiring maintenance.

The most recent MOT test was on 3 March 2021 at 112,275 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. All four tyres are reported to be in excellent condition.
