KEY FACTS

• A stunning example of the rare Speedster model, with remarkably low mileage and remaining completely original and unrestored.
• Under the engine lid is the air-cooled 3.2-litre flat-six, producing 231hp at 5,900 rpm, coupled to the G50 five-speed manual transmission.
• One of just 139 right-hand drive Speedsters, of which only 64 are known to have been C16-code UK cars. It has been owned by the seller for four years.
• A multiple concours winner, this 911 3.2 Speedster was deemed ‘Most Original Porsche’ at the 70 years of Porsche competition during Salon Prive at Blenheim Palace in 2018. The car also won ‘Best in Show’ at the 2018 Royal Automobile Club concours competition, and was put on display in the club’s famous rotunda in Pall Mall.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• The Speedster was offered in wide body ‘Turbo look’ and narrow body styles, though around 95% were built in the former like this example. The model features an aluminium windscreen frame that is shorter and with a more shallow rake, and with a ‘double bubble’ rear cover that houses the fabric soft top. Inside, the seats are also mounted lower in the cabin.
• With the aim of keeping the weight as low as possible, the 911 3.2 Speedster had no power steering, electric windows, or air conditioning. Thanks to this focus on stripping out unnecessary luxuries, the Speedster can sprint from 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 152mph.
• With the wide body ‘Super Sport Equipment’ or ‘Turbo look’ package, it also featured the 911 Turbo axle brackets and stabilisers, as well as the more powerful brakes.
• The original set of Fuchs alloys with red centres still accompanies the car (with new tyres included), and are shown in the gallery. Currently fitted to the Speedster is a fresh set of OEM Fuchs finished in black, which were purchased from Porsche AG via RPM Technik in 2017, shod in a set of Michelin Pilot SX tyres in size 205/55ZR16 at the front and 245/45ZR16 at the rear.
• Accompanying the car is the complete and original book pack in the leather wallet, including the stamped service record, plus two keys, the original tool kit and space-saver spare wheel, and even the Porsche car care kit. A Porsche Certificate of Authenticity is also present, which confirms the factory specification, plus numerous old tax discs and MOT certificates, and a vehicle log from August 1999 to June 2014 detailing any time the car was used.

• Likewise, the Guards Red finish is understood to be wholly original, having never needed any remedial work to the factory coat.
• The full Linen leather upholstery presents superbly, with no signs of any wear.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical faults.
• The most recent MOT test was on 22 July 2020 at 3,485 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with no advisories or defects whatsoever.

SERVICE HISTORY

• Last serviced in March 2019 at 2,686 miles, this was an engine oil change at Porsche specialist Charles Ivey in London.
• Prior to this, it was given an engine oil change and service in September 2016 at 1,220 miles at Hexagon Modern Classics, and in June 2014 at 1,156 miles at André Bloom.
