• As is appropriate for its long-distance riding credentials, the bike is fitted with the original removable side panniers.
• The only modification is the addition of a set of removable handlebar raisers, providing an extra degree of comfort.

CONDITION

• There is no known bodywork or frame damage to the motorbike.
• The original paintwork is in good condition, with some minor stone chips to the front fairing. The seller also notes slight paint fade at the bottom of the fuel tank from years of the bags inside the fairings rubbing against the finish. This has not penetrated the paintwork, but has just scuffed the clear coat slightly.
• The seat is in excellent condition and is also believed to be original.
• There are no known electrical or mechanical faults.
• The most recent MOT test was in April 2021 at 31,541 miles, resulting in a first-time pass with no advisories.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The bike was most recently serviced in April 2021 at 31,530 miles by In Rubigo Veritas. This involved a replacement battery, carburettor cleaning and rebuilding with new jets and membranes, replacement oil and filters, new spark plugs and a fuel tank flush.
• The previous owner carried out the servicing himself, so whilst there are no records for this, the MOT history going back to 2006 shows how well-maintained the bike has always been, with it passing every MOT during this period at the first attempt.

SUMMARY

The BMW R100RS is an iconic sport touring motorcycle, arguably the first of its kind, and this is an exceptionally original example. Very well preserved, it is now ready for the new owner to continue enjoying its long-distance cruising abilities, or to be added to a wider collection of two-wheeled machines.
