EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• Finished in Oceanic Blue, this 944 Turbo originally left the factory with a beige interior, but the previous owner commissioned a professional £3,200 re-trim in black leather throughout, to the correct style.
• It was specified with a tilt/slide sunroof, electrically adjustable and heated seats, a rear wiper, air-conditioning and electric windows.
• The car rides on its original factory option 16-inch forged and polished alloy wheels.
• The previous owner fitted a VDO radio head-unit, providing DAB digital radio, a CD player, USB input and Bluetooth connectivity.
• The car is accompanied by its original owner’s manual, past MOT certificates from 1996 to 2006 (with online MOT records from then onwards) and receipts for recent work, as well as a partial service history with a replacement booklet.

CONDITION

• There is no known bodywork damage. The original undertray previously cracked, so this has been removed, and a new item sourced from Design911 is included in the sale (but not fitted).
• There are some small marks in the paintwork, including minor blemishes to the edges of the nose, where it meets the edges of the pop-up headlights, and small stone chips. It is understood that the car was partially resprayed to correct minor cosmetic damage caused while the car was off the road between 2006 and 2016.
• All four wheels are in good condition and include their original matching centre caps, and have only a few minor surface blemishes.
• The interior upholstery and trim are all in excellent condition, with no visible signs of damage or wear, and all of the black carpeting is in great shape with genuine Porsche over-mats also fitted.
• Its LCD clock cover in the dashboard is frosted but a replacement item comes with the car.
• The headlamp washers are not operational, but otherwise there are no known electrical or mechanical faults.
• The car’s last MOT test was carried out on 31 March 2021at 53,240 miles, which resulted in a first-time pass with the only advisory being regarding slight corrosion to the front brake hose ferrules.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The most recent service was carried out in August 2020 at Parr Porsche, which was minor annual maintenance that included renewal of the brake fluid.
• During the seller’s ownership, the fuel pump was replaced in September 2020 and the car was fully detailed in August 2020.
• This 944 Turbo had a major overhaul carried out by specialist CMS Porsche of Telford in August 2017, with work including replacement of the water pump, cambelt and belt tensioners, offside engine mount, turbo heat shield and anti-roll bar bushes – at a cost of more than £3,350.

SUMMARY

Once something of an unsung hero in Porsche’s history, the 944 Turbo is now rightfully appreciated for its sharp styling, sprightly performance and everyday practicality. A low-mileage, well-kept example which benefits from notable refurbishment and mechanical recommissioning within the last four years, this 944 Turbo should prove to be a thoroughly enjoyable modern classic.
