EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• While the car has been left largely standard, the exhaust system has been upgraded, allowing the V8 engine to be heard in all its glory, with a set of GTS tips to finish off the rear end.
• Elsewhere, Porsche Cup alloys have been fitted in place of the standard wheels, but keeping with the character and brand identity of the car.
• Included with the car is a richly documented history, the original driver’s manual and handbooks, guarantee and maintenance book including the first service invoice, and the ‘pocket guide to Porsche ownership’ booklet. There is also the original tool kit and original air compressor and case, along with a binder full of invoices and receipts.

CONDITION

• There is no damage to the vehicle’s bodywork, with all the shut lines and panel gaps remaining flush and even.
• The paintwork is in generally very good condition for its age. There are the usual smattering of small stone chips to the front end and exposed edges, along with small imperfections on both the nearside and offside doors around the body moulding strip.
• There are also a few minor patches of bubbling, located on the lower front of the offside door, at the rear of the offside front wheel arch, and above the offside rear light.
• All four wheels are in superb condition, having recently been subject to a full refurbishment.
• Inside, the cabin of this high-end GT is in excellent condition. The seats show only minimal signs of wear for their age, with only a tiny tear noted on the outer driver seat bolster.
• There is some age-related patina around the transmission tunnel, steering wheel, shifter and door cards, though this is commensurate with the age and mileage of the vehicle.
• The vendor also notes there is a section of centre console which needs attention behind the air vents.
• There are no known electrical faults with the car, and the pop-up headlights are working exactly as they should.
• The most recent MOT test took place on 9 June 2021, and resulted in a first-time pass with advisories for an inoperative offside rear registration plate lamp, a minor exhaust leak around the central joint, and some inner edge wear to the front tyres.

SERVICE HISTORY

• During April 2021, this 924 S4 underwent a significant programme of maintenance and servicing, with the vendor simply telling the garage to address anything that needed fixing, replacing or refurbishing, as they had planned to travel to Le Mans Classic in the car.
• As a result, the fuel lines, torque converter gaskets and seals, differential seals, spiral wrap sensor wiring, fuel tank cradle, air-con compressor assembly, water pump, rear bumper supports, water bridge casting, upper wishbone bushes and fuel filter were all replaced, along with an oil and filter change being carried out.
• In addition to this, the cam belt was replaced, the fuel tank was removed and steam cleaned, a noisy wheel bearing was attended to, the air-conditioning system re-gassed, and a four-wheel alignment was carried out.
• At the same time, the jacking points were checked and resprayed, with the total cost of the above work amounting to £7,187.50
