1988 PORSCHE 911 (930) TURBO CABRIOLET

KEY FACTS

• A true icon of its time, this handsome 930 Turbo Cabriolet is a rare find, finished in a Paint to Sample shade.
• Under the rear engine lid is the air-cooled 3.3-litre flat-six, delivering up to 296bhp and 278lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
• This example has been in the care of its current owner for the last 21 years.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

• This late model 930-generation 911 Turbo features flared wheel arches, front chin spoiler, and the correct ‘tea tray’ rear wing over the engine lid.
• This example is finished in a Paint to Sample shade of very dark grey (almost black) over Linen leather upholstery with custom dark grey piping, and with a black soft top.
• It rides on its original 16-inch Fuchs alloy wheels, complete with Porsche-crested centre caps. 
• Its factory specification includes air-conditioning, heated and electrically adjustable front sports seats, and an electrically powered soft top.
• A Tracker has been fitted to the vehicle.
• The original Blaupunkt radio and steering wheel have been replaced. Should the new owner prefer, the original steering wheel can be included in the sale. The replacement steering wheel is removeable (for security purposes) and there is an immobiliser operated from the fob.
• The car is also accompanied by the stamped service book, MOT certificates, various invoices, toolkit, spare key and fob, and spare wheel and electric pump.
• There is a CD player fitted and there is a tonneau cover needing a small repair.
• A supply of fuel additive and an oil filler funnel are included.
• While HPI data suggests a change from black to grey in 1994, it is assumed that this was someone correctly reclassifying the car as being very dark grey, rather than a colour change. The build sticker also confirms the Paint to Sample status with the L999 code.

CONDITION

• The rear end of the car has been repaired following a previous low-speed collision. However, the car is HPI clear.
• The dark grey paintwork is believed to have been resprayed in the past and presents well, with small stone chips to the front end of the car, side skirts and wheel arches.
• The 16-inch alloys show some slight discolouration and kerbing damage, and they would benefit from being refurbished.
• Moving inside, the original leather interior is in good overall condition, with a natural ‘patina’ on the leather seats, which are free from any holes or tears. There are some modest signs of use on the main touchpoints and door cards, as well as a mark on the nearside rear seat bolster.
• There are no known mechanical or electrical faults. 
• The most recent MOT test was in March 2021 at 109,217 miles when it passed first time with one advisory for a non-excessive oil leak.

SERVICE HISTORY

• The car’s right-hand side hood locking gear was repaired during the last service in September 2017 at 108,466 miles by Porsche specialist P.C.T. Cars.
• Prior to this, P.C.T. Cars performed a major service in April 2016 at 107,868 miles, and an oil service in October 2010 at 106,716 miles.
