KEY FACTS
- A superb example of the stylish open-top modern classic sports car, which is still finished in its factory Guards Red paintwork.
- Under the rear engine lid is the air-cooled 3.2-litre flat-six, coupled to an engaging five-speed ‘G50’ manual transmission.
- The car was acquired by the seller three months ago, and has just two previous owners from new, with an exceptional history file of paperwork.
- Its first owner kept the car from December 1987 through to June 2003, while its second had possession for the next 18 years.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
- This example was specified with Guards Red paintwork and a partial black leather interior.
- Standard equipment included electrically adjustable seats, air conditioning, power windows and electric heated mirrors.
- This example was factory-fitted with the optional Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46 stereo, a limited-slip differential, cruise control and sports shock absorbers.
- It rides on the correct set of 15-inch Fuchs alloy wheels, which feature matte black ‘petal’ spokes and are in great shape.
- While the car is presented in highly original condition, its factory-fitted radio has been replaced with a Blaupunkt Dearborn unit, and the door speakers have been changed for Blaupunkt Overdrive items.
- Its original owner’s manuals, service book and tool roll will be included, along with a raft of maintenance invoices, an air compressor, a spare wheel and a three-spoke Momo steering wheel.
- The car even retains the original 1987 window sticker, and a copy of the original title.

CONDITION

- The Guards Red paintwork is entirely original, but has evidently been very well cared-for, and remains in excellent condition. Paint meter readings show measurements of 4.5-5 mils across the panels.
- The black convertible hood presents superbly, fitting snugly over the frame below with no rips, tears or fading to speak of.
- Inside, the cabin is very smart indeed, and while the black leather upholstery features a few light creases this is commensurate with the car’s age.
- No electrical faults have been detected.
