1985 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA 3.2 SPORT TARGA

This 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport Targa is a popular modern classic sports car, which benefits from a full respray and a desirable factory specification. It is equipped with the 228bhp 3.2-litre air-cooled flat-six engine, which drives the rear wheels via the five-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently indicates 128,309 miles from new.

First registered in May 1985, this right-hand-drive Targa has been with its current keeper for 11 years. It left the factory finished in Grand Prix White with black leatherette and leather upholstery – as it appears today – and with the factory-fitted ‘Sport’ package, comprising upgraded Bilstein shock absorbers, sport seats, a black lip spoiler at the front and the ‘whale tail’ spoiler at the rear.

The handsome bodywork of this 911 presents very well, with the vendor noting the wings have been replaced due to some age-related rust. The condition of the white paintwork has been described as excellent, presenting with minimal wear following a recent respray. The distinctive black rear spoiler and refurbished Targa top present as they should, while the vehicle rides on a set of black 16-inch alloy wheels, which are in good order on all four corners.

In the cabin, the black sport seats are in excellent condition for their age and mileage, with just some light creasing, and minor damage around the driver’s side electric adjustment controls. The car is equipped with a Blaupunkt Boston stereo head unit, as well as a Sony F Series speaker system, and all of the electrics are believed to be in good working order.

The last routine maintenance was undertaken by Car-Serv in Aberdeen in September 2020 at 128,309 miles, where technicians changed the engine oil and filter. Prior to this, routine servicing was undertaken by Car-Serv in April 2019 at 127,988 miles, and by Lethan Motors Ltd in September 2018 at 127,818 miles.

The most recent MOT test was on 2 July 2020 at 128,089 miles, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories or defects. The wheels come wrapped with a set of Nexen tyres, which are reported to be near new.

Accompanying the vehicle are the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and service booklet, along with a raft of maintenance invoices and old tax discs. A car cover and two keys will also be supplied.
